People reported that University of Washington (Seattle) is fully enrolled and has closed the waitlist (at least for OOS students.)
Haverford notified waitlisted applicants on May 7th that their class was full. I don’t know if they pulled from the waitlist or not. My child was offered a spot on an “extended waitlist” over the summer in case someone withdraws or changes their minds, etc. We accepted the extended waitlist spot just in case but are moving ahead with other plans where we put a deposit. An admissions counselor at a college where I work told me that “summer melt” is a real phenomenon and that some schools can lose 10-20 students over the summer due to various factors. So I was told to keep my fingers crossed and hold on to the sliver of hope, but also to move on and make plans for the college where we deposited.
My daughter’s friend just got offered a spot at UW (Madison) yesterday (off the waitlist) and accepted.today
Emory just posted that they will not be going to their waitlist for either Emory College or Oxford College.
Where did you see the posts about Brown starting to admit from their waitlist? Thanks!
Poster on CC reporting being admitted to Clemson off the waitlist
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-california-berkeley/2069019-uc-berkeley-class-of-2022-waitlisted-applicants-thread.html#latest indicates a small number of UCB L&S waitlist admissions in a second round around yesterday.
Received the following email from Bates:
The college experienced an extremely strong admission year with nearly 7,700 applicants applying for a place in our first-year class. Unfortunately, given current enrollment for fall 2018, we are no longer be able to consider you for admission from our wait list. We recognize that this may come as disappointing news.
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/discussion/comment/21554522/#Comment_21554522 indicates that the second wave of waitlist admissions in mid-May at UCB includes CoE undeclared as well as L&S.
got email from dartmouth that they are not taking anyone from waitlist.
Any word re OH State making waitlist offers for fall 2018 undergrad?
@444444 If you go to this thread in the Oho State sub-forum you will see some people reference getting off the wait list.
Someone on the Cornell waitlist thread said a friend got off waitlist for CAS within past couple of days, but for fall, not spring!
So Georgia Tech’s list is still in use?
Is it possible to get a reply later than June 1st?
Posters on the Rice waitlist and Rice transfer waitlist threads are reporting that they have received an email from the school that Rice is currently oversubscribed for the fall term and Rice will not be taking any students from the waitlist going forward.
@KingKay I have read that some people hear about waitlists as late as the end of July, however the percentage chances of it happening diminish daily. If you are still waiting on a waitlist decision, you are best off assuming that it is NOT going to happen and putting your energy into preparing for your second choice.
Someone we personally know got off the Harvard waitlist two days ago (Wednesday)
Someone on reddit got a note from Grinnell saying they will not be going to waitlist this year.
Yeah Georgia Tech just closed the waitlist today thanks
