I’m not going to go so far as to call bull-puckey on this…but RD decisions were only released 5 days ago and the enrollment deadline is 5/1. If there’s a one-off, then there’s a whole lot more to the story that wouldn’t be applicable to everyone else on the waitlist.

Applicants also need to keep in mind that WashU pulls from WL by division, so someone getting in for architecture doesn’t mean arts and sciences is releasing anytime soon

Someone stated that based on deposit algorithms that early WL movement is not surprising, and as for the Wash U report, it was from a college counselor. Unless they misunderstood what their student reported, I would take them at their word. And yes, it’s important to be mindful of how schools use their WL, BUT it is also important to be mindful that students CAN be, and ARE admitted from WLs every year (hence this thread). Always best to accept elsewhere first and then wait….

Has anyone been admitted off the WashU waitlist? If so what major and how did you find out? Thanks!

Yes WashU has gone to the waitlist. WashU does not admit by major, it admits to academic divisions. I don’t know which academic visions have gone to the waitlist.

I agree, seems like a lot of movement this early. Although I didn’t compare this to the last few years’ threads.

Can anybody here confirm that Pitt has already gone to their waitlist? Only asking because my son applied in October and still has not received a decision. Application is marked as fully complete.

Wait, what? They have not admitted or denied or waitlisted? That would in my mind require a call to the admissions office to see what’s going on. Per the post above a counselor reported that Pitt went to its waitlist on April 16.
