@AFutureStudent Yeah, I applied for financial aid. I’m also applying to SCA who do their own set of scholarships but, I don’t think that affects this.
@vegastransfer I’m also wondering that.

@vegastransfer junior non-TTP here, My finaid did not change
But I also have an issue with the citizenship verification stuck… so yeah. For what its worth, applying Dornsife, weak essays, everything else solid. GPA: 4.0/4.0 sent mid-terms with all A’s with 20 credits in-progress. Completed all reqs so yeah… really hope this is not the end of the road for me boys
@Snekfest I don’t think USC needs you to send midterm report though. There is only the official transcript including 2018 Fall grades and the spring grades if you get an SGR.
My Spring grades came out yesterday and I am planning to upload the updated unofficial transcript (including Spring 2019 grades) on portal on monday even though I have not gotten an SGR yet. Hopefully, this will expedite the decision process.
Just so we are absolutely 100% clear, the change is on the USC Fast Portal (you can get to that by clicking the “click here” under Financial Aid Document Submission and Status Check (FAST) on the right hand side of the main portal. Once there, the supposely “new” message is under the tab on the front page of “Application in Review” and it says “Your financial aid application is currently in review. Please Note: We will notify you during the review process if additional documents are required. Financial Aid Summaries for transfer students will be released in early May.”
I feel like that has always been there. Does anyone remember what it said in the past if it was something different? Also is there anyone who did apply for FinAid who doesn’t have that change?
Also unrelated but I was under the impression from last year that Informed Delivery for USPS does not show any mail by USC because they disable it? Does anyone know if that is accurate?
Hey everyone,
I applied to USC with economics as my major and currently have a 3.25 gpa with my extra curricular standing as the following:
Honors Program
Student Body Senator
AGS certified
Deans list for Spring 2018
Local tutor for elementary through middle school in math and English
Youth Group coordinator for annual church missionary trips in Tijuana, Mexico
(all of which are mentioned in my essays)
USC has been my dream school ever since middle school, which was the main reason in me attending community college. My gpa is what I am most concerned with, but I hope that my extra curricular somewhat compensate. What do you guys think my chances are of being admitted? Thanks!
@HeyItsNick I check it daily, including the FinAid part and haven’t noticed it till today. I don’t know if it’s only there because they need to let sophomore transfer know or if it includes everyone in the next decisions wave or just people who signed up for FinAid. It could be a multitude of things. The optimist in me is hoping it means juniors will start hearing back soon.
@FemmeFilmFatale Hm, maybe I am mistaken and it is new. I just thought it has been there for a while. Regardless, I have it too and it does say early May so I would expect decisions to be coming out for at least some applicants soon. (Perhaps they are already in the mail!)
@HeyItsNick I check it regularly as well. There was always the “Your financial aid application is currently under review” part. The part about transfer financial aid summaries coming in early May is new. I have never seen that until today.
question for anyone who has to submit a non-custodial parent css profile: did any of you submit a waiver for the non-custodial parent? I did quite a while ago and it’s still saying it needs me to submit
I am a ~60 credit transfer (depending on the credits USC will accept) and I noticed the ‘under review…early May’ change a couple of weeks ago. Not sure if it’s simply verifying they’ve received all of my FA info or is indicative of something more exciting… We can only hope!
@filmmajorusc I submitted my waiver as well and it’s still asking me for the noncustodial parent even though there’s literally no way for me to obtain any info from my parent. I called and they just told me that they were going to look at it but that was almost two months ago and still no change.
does everyone who applied for FA have the change in their FAST?
@itsgoingtobeokay
Mines changed
“Your financial aid application is currently in review. Please Note: We will notify you during the review process if additional documents are required. Financial Aid Summaries for transfer students will be released in early May.”
this is what it says
@studentransfer yeah i called over a month ago and they said they were going to start reviewing waivers that following week, but my portal has stayed the same. i’m definitely going to call monday morning
i also have the change on my FAST page. i applied for FA btw.
Does it matter if I don’t submit my FAST info unless I get admitted? I kind of don’t want to give USC my info without knowing if they’re going to accept me
If everyone here (so far) that applied for aid has the change in the FAST portal, I am assuming that it is not an indicator of acceptance or not. I am just hoping that it was a hint that a wave of decisions is coming soon! Let’s go, USC!!! I just want to be a Trojan already lol.
@woshua I got asked for a lot of documents and I submitted them all as soon as I could. They can’t discriminate you based off of finances so, I don’t think it would affect your chances. However, I do think submitting them would show that you are interested in the school. I’m not sure why you wouldn’t submit them in the first place though? It’s the same information required on the FASFA, they just want copies of the documents to make sure everything matches up and is as stated. I think you should submit them asap either way…
Hi guys, I am taking a Math class and I am not doing to well. Based on my current grades I am either going to get a B or a C. Should I protect my GPA and Withdrawal? This class doesn’t transfer to USC or other UC’s but it was the math that I was placed in. Also if I withdrawal I will only be part-time because I can’t find another class to add this late in the semester. Thanks.
