does anyone have any information about what type of students tend to get the transfer merit scholarship? Do we have any stats on that here?
Where did you find your USC ID? If it is the one I think it is, then it is not working for me. @itsgoingtobeokay
@Irigrotcart it’s a 10 digit number within your FAST portal
@atldreamer4 we’re talking about after you register. we’re able to apply for housing for the 2019-2020 school year

what are my chances as a cs major assuming if I dont get an internship?
@CADREAMIN I found it interesting that I could apply for USC housing now (even though that I am not admitted yet)? I was just looking at USC Housing portal for on campus housing for Fall 2019.
@atldreamer4 Are you talking about USC-specific merit scholarships or just in general? I’m no expert but, here’s what I’ve found doing some research over the months.
USC does offer a transfer merit scholarship from what I’ve seen. I’ll post the link to it at the end of this post.
There are also scholarships for certain schools within USC. I applied to the School of Cinematic Arts and a few months after submitting my application, everyone was emailed a link to a scholarship portal with specific SCA scholarships.
Other than that, I’ve personally been reaching out to local organizations and clubs for scholarships. Most of the time they only give out scholarships to incoming college freshmen but after reaching out to them they do change the rules a little bit. I live in a small town so, arguably, it is a little easier for me to make those connections, haha. I have a sample scholarship letter I’ve been sending out. If anyone would like to see, feel free to message me.
As far as transfer scholarships go, I’m finding the most luck when I make a contact personally. It doesn’t seem like there is much out there for transfers.
Scroll down and you can find the merit scholarship: http://admission.usc.edu/wp-content/uploads/18_Scholarships.pdf
Did everyone apply for on-campus housing? I thought that you have to be admitted in order to apply for on-campus housing. I just registered an account lol I think it’s pretty late.
I don’t know how to pick my housing preferences because there are so many.
@sagaciousforever I’m waiting for my decision before I apply. I don’t feel comfortable doing it without, lol.
@FemmeFilmFatale Me too. I want to do the same thing though, but I started my application already. I did not complete it because I am not sure which five options are the best.
@FemmeFilmFatale same. i think everyones able to access the housing application so its best to wait
@FemmeFilmFatale Also, we are not sure if we can both get into Fall 2019 though (if admitted).
@itsgoingtobeokay I will just as wait then. I am just worried if accepted all the on-campus housing will all be gone. I want to live in single-room if possible and I think off-campus is my best bet since on-campus housing it’s almost impossible to get single-room.
If I do get admitted housing will be my biggest concern. I will definitely have roommates. How much do people pay for apartments near campus or on campus apartments?
R we sure everyone can log onto the housing portal?
Did u go to a private hs? @jj1999
@itsgoingtobeokay That’s the number I used… @DDHH2017 Yeah, I can’t. I really hope I just don’t know how to log on properly.
@lrigrotcart Yeah you just use your usc id from FAST and register with it. Like you have to enter in your address and stuff
honestly i just did it. to me, if $55 is a small price to pay to get me in line early and possibly get me decent housing… i’ll take the chance.
@transferusc88 What are your preferences? I am not sure which top 5 are good.
