Are we supposed to hear back today?
@oceansquare I figured you might be man econ because you’re applying to marshall business I believe.
Hey guys, just got off the phone with USC admissions and it turns out that I can apply for the accounting major as a double major with my bus admin major in spring 2020. They say that it’s perfectly fine for me to “test the waters” and evaluate my academic performance at usc during my first semester and if I feel like I can handle the work, then I can declare accounting in spring!
@GoodAfternoonSir I never said I applied to Marshall! I’m applying as an Urban Studies and Regional Planning major.
why can’t i stop being so stressed about this decision being released
Stop thinking about it. It might take another month so keep calm and carry on.
It’s been like 4 years and my decision date was a bit atypical, but the decision date was postmarked June 5th, 2015 and I received the letter on June 6th, 2015 (Saturday). I live about 8 or 9 miles from USC, so in my case, the package beat any portal update.
I still have not gotten a physical mail for the SGR. It’s been 3 weeks since I’ve gotten the email.
@oceansquare I also applied this major lol
@transferfffff Are you coming from a CC?
@CalAlum97 Did you make an account just to say that? lol
@oceansquare I am from a 4-year state university. Seems that CC is easier
This thread is a little old but provides a bunch of useful information about USC Marshall for those who are applying to this department
For those considering a double major keep in mind you can do as much as you want and stay as long as you want, as long as you can pay for it somehow. A certain amount of classes in each major have to be unique to that major; many incorrectly assume how much of their first major counts into another one. See an advisor or put together your own four year plan (which is 2 or 3 for transfers), and understand if possible. Do the research if this is important to you in selecting USC. Also ability to transfer into certain schools like Marshall and Leventhal, have gotten more challenging over last several years if not already in them. Use to be a form, now there are some hoops. Just a heads up.
I applied to Dornsife as a poli sci major with a 3.73 GPA but I’m taking USC’s writing requirement and major-related class requirement my Spring semester (right now). Should I expect a SGR?
@goldeneagle220 . I was in a similar situation with a TTP. (I applied to Dornsife with a 3.68.) I received an SGR. Also, if you’re a freshman, it makes it all the more likely.
I’m a rising junior and I have over a 3.8 rn but I’m taking my first level of a language this semester which is required for Annenberg, does anyone know if I’ll probably get a SGR for that? I’m getting a 4.0 this semester but I really don’t want to have to wait until June/July for a decision (I’m out of state)
This is my dream and I’m so nervous!!!
damn I’m really sick of waiting… ngl I might withdraw my application
@ily8853 Im in the exact same situation and I’m wondering the same thing! I’m really hoping I dont have to wait till june/July. The wait is killing me!
My son is a rising sophomore and he got SGR.
@Trashception I understand that the wait is exhausting, but there’s still over a month to go before most people start hear back, and you knew that when you sent in your application. If you aren’t patient enough to wait until June 1 (the date on every website that USC says they would give you a response by), then maybe you should withdraw and give it to somebody else who wants that spot and would be willing to wait until JULY if it meant that they could go to their dream school. I’m not trying to be shady, but i do think it speaks to how much you really want to go there if you’re not even willing to wait until May.
