2019-2020 USC Transfer

For those of you who got the informed delivery notification, does it have a date like when it’ll be delivered? Or does it just say that it’s coming with no date?

I don’t want to burst anyone’s bubble, but today is Tuesday. If informed delivery shows you got a piece of mail that couldn’t be scanned it can be anything including weekly circulars which are typically delivered on Tuesdays. Still, anything is possible so good luck to all.

I have 1 mail piece coming today according to informed delivery, not a package. I live in Fremont. It might be a UCSD or other UC acceptance.

@AFutureStudent & @Snekfest I am also in your shoes with the credit situation, but have not received a SGR… so stressful

@neilsola mu UCSD acceptance came today and it didn’t have a picture on informed delivery

I know you guys are crawling out of your skin waiting but getting into USC can be one of the biggest moments of your life and I cannot think of a sadder way to find out than through a postal service portal. The mailbox moment of finding the package is truly a memory that is unforgettable if you let it happen. All your doing is finding out a couple hours before anyway in a lackluster way and making yourself crazier in the process. USC does this old school process for a reason. Cause it is fabulous when it plays out as intended. We have had several at our house and happy to say each one had that moment. I hope you all have yours!

@CADREAMIN I posted this a little while ago, but I wanted to hear your input if you had any:

“I just received a SGR on my portal. I’m a rising junior with around 70 credits and I’m not taking any prerequisites for my major (in Dornsife). I have a 4.0 GPA and even sent in a Midyear report a couple weeks ago with straight A’s. Why would USC care about my spring grades? Seems a bit odd… no?”

I was really expecting a straight up decision, and I’m a bit baffled to be honest. Have you seen other applicants in a similar situation?

Thanks!

I went a little all-out and applied to 13 schools lol. Not a single one of them allowed their packages to show up in informed delivery. I understand that it is stressful for all of us waiting, but @CADREAMIN is right. USC WANTS us to have that special mailbox moment that is rare in the 21st century. We always find out via portals or emails nowadays, so I like that USC (tries) to do it the old school method.

I am a freshman and I haven’t gotten a SGR… is that weird? Also do we find out if we get in on the TR portal?

dangggg turns out mine is from UCSD… :<

I know this is mean, but I think it’s funny how some of you are waiting for the package from USC and it turns out it’s some other school sending a package lol

Just checked the mail. Still no response

I ruined my mailbox moment. It certainly would have been more special to randomly see the package in the mailbox that fateful Saturday. Back in my day, we didn’t have this Informed Delivery thing (or if we did, nobody really knew about it). I found out another way. It was like 2AM in the morning and while I went back to bed happy that night, all I really did was find out 1 day in advance. It seems way more special to be surprised

@AFutureStudent Were you ever a part-time or half-time student? One of the only other reasons I can think of involves not always being a full-time student.

@zettasyntax I have always been a full-time student during the academic semesters. I have taken a couple of summer classes (6 credits during one summer session), but I don’t think this would be considered part-time.

@AFutureStudent Yeah, your situation sounds interesting then. I’m not sure what it could be. USC likes to see 2 years of full-time attendance, so I thought maybe there was one semester where you weren’t full-time and USC just wanted to see if you could keep up the good work you’ve done so far. Are you taking no other important courses? I really don’t see why you’d get an SGR in your case.

i think any mail that isn’t standard letter size or a little bigger will not show up on informed delivery. it’s been happening to me with bigger mail pieces

USPS just came today still nothing…

I thought there would be at least one round in April :<

^^^you aren’t alone in that thought!

also anyone waiting for a response on their waiver for the non custodial parent css profile: your fast page will update if you’re admitted. I called yesterday and they said they’ll process it if you’re admitted, otherwise you don’t need to do anything else
