2019-2020 USC Transfer

I keep receiving an email from USC saying there are missing items from my application, but if I have already sent them in to disregard the notice. My transcript for this semester is still marked as awaiting, but I sent it in electronically through my school almost 2 months ago, and got an email confirmation receipt that it was received by USC. I uploaded another copy of the transcript to my portal, and have tried emailing and calling my admissions counselor to double check but can’t get a hold of him, and when I call the admissions office they tell me to contact my counselor so I’m not quite sure how to proceed.

@bhn121 Just email your counselor and be patient. They won’t accept or reject you until they have everything on file.

USC counselors are hard to reach during this time. My USC counselor used to be very responsive, as I normally hear back on the same day. It has been two days and he has not responded the email that I sent yesterday morning.

Just be patient and they will not forget you. They are just very busy now.

I got accepted into USC last year and have reapplied as a transfer; I’m so scared that I’m not going to get in because I rejected them the first time around. I got the package around this time last year, and I’m getting antsy. My package last year came around April 27th.

An admissions officer sent me an email yesterday telling me that I’m missing information, specifically for one course that I took at a community college. She said that I could just send her an unofficial transcript to speed up the process. It seems strange. I sent her a screenshot of an unofficial transcript as well as an official one to USC. Has anyone experienced anything similar? It seems like really late in the game to be asking for things that I am apparently missing now.

Stressed is an understatement.

Hey there. Guys. Hello?

Read what you are posting and telling us. The answers to your questions are right in front of you.

@bhn121 call admissions back. Tell them exactly what you wrote here. Seems to me, you need them to look at the problem and for them to find a solution - whether it’s your counselor responding back to you or them asking you to resend those documents. But get an answer from them.

@ErikaJeon why are you asking us what to do? Your counselor told you what to do. Go ask your counselor what your chances are and if this is a good thing or a bad thing.

I feel your frustrations. I do. But if you’re not going to be proactive in this situation, no one will. You have to look out for yourselves and do what is necessary to complete or expedite the process. If not, then you can chime in on this forum all you want and it won’t help your situation one iota, because none of us who are empathizing with you works for the admissions office.

I get it guys. I really do. This wait is agonizing. But just do what you have to do and things will all work out.

@ErikaJeon
This happened to me. Some kind of error happened with my official transcript, and they didn’t receive it.
I contacted my Admissions Officer about it and eventually decided to email him an unofficial one while I resent the official one. That solved the issue, and he thanked me for giving him a subtitute transcript for the time being. It’s not weird, although this happened a couple of months ago.

After completing your common app application did you send your transcripts to the processing center like it stated in the instructions? The transcripts were to be sent from your college counselor or admissions/ records and not from the hands of the applicant. maybe that will help? @bhn121

I have accepted the fact that nothing will be coming until May 31 at this point. Which I’m really surprised honestly. Definitely thought they’d request an SGR from me by now considering I’m in Stats even though I’m an Annenberg applicant. Oh well. Hang in there, guys.

@TeriYaki1 Lol, did you read my post correctly? I did the necessary steps. I’m not going to wait around for some people from the internet to tell me what to do. I did what the admissions counselor told me to do: send them an unofficial transcript and then an official one to USC. I was just trying to get some input from you guys whether someone has experienced something similar. No need to get condescending bruh.

and @TheMaSharng Thank you! I was looking for this kind of input.

@ShawnUSC not to be rude, but what good does it do asking for our opinions? lol none of us really know what it takes to get in… in previous threads you see people with 4.0 get rejected and people without a 4.0 get and vice versa. There’s really no way to tell.

Just out of curiosity is anyone else trying to transfer from UT Austin to USC?

I wonder if a n y o n e has heard, like those who simply aren’t on college confidential l

I feel like everyone is tired and being sensitive because of waiting.

Admission counselors are people. On any given day, they can recommend us for admission or reject us based on how they are feeling. Any of you ever been in a bad mood and it just dictates how your day is going to go? I’m guessing that’s how it is for our counselors. I know many of us are dying to hear back, but we just to try and be patient. If we keep emailing and calling, it can become stressful for the counselors. For those of you who have received your SGR or the WGR, try to send them in as soon as possible. Let’s try to be patient.

At least we can hear anything from USC by end of the May. Lets just be patient guys we waited for 4 months. We can do another 1 month (worst case).

I’m gonna just say this now because a lot of people keep asking about their stats and want us to chance them. I’m in no way trying to hate so please do not take it this way. One answer: we don’t know. USC specifically states on their websites, at the transfer information session I attended, and anywhere else honestly, that they look for an UPWARD TREND in your grades if you do not have a consistent 4.0. There is nothing more I can say about anybody’s stats and grades, and nobody else will know anymore either because we are all in the same boat waiting to hear if we are “USC material” or not. I can answer a few questions because I did go to their transfer information session, but I’m not an admissions counselor so I’m on the same page as all of you. If anyone really really has any questions I can TRY my best to answer if you PM me but if we’re being honest, it doesn’t matter at this point. The applications are in, the review process has (kinda?) started, and all you can hope for is that you did the best you could do. All I’m gonna say is that all we can do is wait and see. I’m hoping everyone hears back soon with a lovely USC package at their doorstep. Good luck everyone

@ShawnUSC you probably will get a spring grade request, you should hope you get one to be honest. If you do receive your grades for this semester before USC asks for it, send it in ASAP anyways. And then call/email your councilor that you sent it in. This way you will hopefully get your decision back faster.

Hi guys!!! I was wondering if anyone has gotten accepted not TTP from a community college?
as well as this… does submitting your spring grades late june lessen your chances of getting in or is the admission accepted before hand

bruh just got a SGR with a 3.9 (deans list) from a top 30 school…

@beachlover48 Hey! I haven’t heard and I’m at a CC, non TTP. I know that none of my school has heard because I’m in the honors program and a few of the other kids haven’t heard either. Not sure about other places though, but it seems nobody has heard yet. Hopefully soon! And no, it shouldn’t hurt. Just submit them as soon as you get them. They take into account if you’re on semester or quarter.
