@gonnatranser that sucks, but, it makes sense…Seems like we’re in for the long haul.
So based on your call, admissions in early may are looking unlikely
@FemmeFilmFatale yeah we definitely are. But it will be even more rewarding for us (considering we do get accepted) to say we got in after all that BS went down! And we earned it fair and square. AND we were all under extra scrutiny because of the dumb scandal.
I’m sure some people will get in without the SGR but the admissions lady told me that it’s highly unlikely for that to happen to “big waves of applicants” this year.
@gonnatranser It just sucks having to wait so long. We signed up for it though. Your phone call explains everyone’s SGRs though! I wonder how they chose who get’s them and when…
Also, my friend works very closely with the counselors in the admissions office. she said the same thing to me about SGRs and the extended application review time. She also mentioned how freshman applicants were under a microscope as well
I’m quarter system and I called a little while back about WGR. They said that everyone will get one and if you haven’t gotten one, it is because they haven’t gotten to your application yet. Again this is for WGR, I’m not sure about SGR. I got my WGR April 22, and they processed it a week later.
@FemmeFilmFatale yeah when she told me i wasn’t shocked because I have seen SO MANY SGRs on here this year!! Tons of people in my shoes with high GPAs as upcoming juniors!! I thought college admissions during high school sucked but tbh this is worse.
I’m just bummed bc I’m gonna be out a couple hundred bucks. I’m gonna transfer to UCSD if I don’t get in to USC, but the deposit is due June 1. Either way, I’m happy to be leaving the east coast (I’m from San Diego so UCSD isn’t a bad option for me but I just love USC)
@gonnatranser I really feel for all of you that have to make a decision without knowing everything or have to spend money to hold a spot. That really sucks.
i haven’t received a SGR, which means that i’ll most likely receive the request later on…DAMM… tbh screw olivia jade and her freaking family
@okurrr RETWEET
But guys ya never know i know everyone is a ~shining star~ and some people just really make an impression so I hope the best for all of you and maybe some of us will get admitted right away (butthurt I wasn’t one of them but whatever). Hoping for the best for all of us
Honestly tho I’m mostly upset because I had a GREAT relationship with who I THOUGHT was my counselor but turns out I got reassigned last minute so all the time and effort I put into emailing back and forth with him and also VISITING to meet him meant nothing because some other rando turned out to actually be my counselor/ the one deciding my fate lol
The thing that is the most stressful is that we can’t use previous years as a reference to when we can expect admissions because of the whole scandal. So this year specifically, we are getting left in the dark. BUT, you can’t really blame anyone, it just sucks for all of us.
is there any way we can sue olivia jade and her family? USC transfer applicants vs olivia jade and her family lol
I just checked my portal and never got asked for WGR? If they were included in my transcripts, I’m assuming they wouldn’t ask for them, right? I applied in February and my winter semester ended in December.
WGR is only for quarter system applicants, and my counselor said all quarter system students would be asked for one. Semester system students would get SGR’s, but I don’t know if everyone is gonna get one or not.
@Busiadminstrator Ah, that makes sense. Thanks!
Yeah, I had a feeling everything has been taking long because of the scandal. I’m glad someone called. What I’m not understanding is how they are connecting a major increase in sending out SGRs with the fact that the scandal (influenced) more SGRs this semester. The scandal had to do with SAT scores and sport recruitments, right? Maybe I’m wrong and there was more? Unless they are just being extra thorough with who they are admitting… maybe that’s what they meant? Idk, any ideas on that?
Also, rising junior Annenberg applicant. Still haven’t heard anything, SGR and all.
are there any SCA applicants who received a SGR?
Just withdrew from Business Calc  I was going to end up failing it. Are my chances slim to none. I did finish my pre-req for the class and my second choice is AA studies… Will I still be considered for Dornsife?
