@USCAAA I actually felt like that when I applied. My admission counselor emailed me like on May 7th and said my GED was missing. I had applied the year before and sent in my GED, so I assumed they still had it since it was under submitted materials. Why would he just barely mention that something was missing? My situation did make me think that perhaps USC utilizes some kind of stack method - that they just barely got to my file. Or yeah, maybe they forgot about me. That happens to me a lot, lol.
@USCAAA im a freshman at a california CC, 4.0 GPA 18 units completed. I have15 units in progress and will have 6/8 GEs done by the end of the semester. I applied for econ first choice , and philosophy, politics, and law as second choice. Completed micro and Macro econ, writing requirement in progress.
@CADREAMIN CAD why is that? It’s stressful waiting to get a decision without a SGR cause it just feels like I might get rejected cause I’m missing a class that for a pre req but I’m taking it rn. Cause idk if I will get a SGR or they will specially just ask for that one class you know. I’m feeling a lot better hearing you say no news can be good news I trust you CAD.
I’m going to submit my housing application today now that I have been accepted. I was wondering where everybody chose to stay in their application? Where is the best place for transfers? I am also making backup plans to get roommates off campus if on campus housing doesn’t work for me.
@CADREAMIN sorry to bug you, but by chance do you know anything about the lorenzo apartments in general? I have only heard both extremes of good and bad…
@caliweedandusc Lavish, nice, but for minge, too far from campus. Mine were there often to hang with friends and said it is incredible once inside the place. They do have shuttles, but those can be annoying to rely on. But it is beautiful and I think people do enjoy the perks - it is really shi-shi. It doesn’t provide that “walk out of your place to get food and be close to campus/people” kind of feeling, but it is one of the nicest places down there (some places are true dumps for the money you pay).
@Caliweedandusc my really good friend who goes to USC moved out of lorenzo mid semester so idk if that’s helpful at all but she lives in university gateway now and likes it a lot
@USCAAA It is not under the package section so I’m assuming mail. Would it normally show up as a package?
No SGR. No decision. Rising junior OOS 4 year. Annenberg.
Lol I tried tweeting them like 3 weeks ago and no response ??
I called my admissions counselor this morning because I thought I got rejected in March (kinda a long story). But she informed me that I was looking at the wrong portal LOL apparently I was looking at my portal from last year (stupid, I know)…but anyways she told me that they haven’t made a decision for me yet, so for those who haven’t heard back from USC or haven’t been asked for SGR, just relax for now because they probably haven’t made a decision for you yet.
@CookieMnstr aw thank you
^^ yeah another user convinced me not to (especially since it wouldn’t directly give somebody my spot)
Kind of hope I get denied. Sad but true. I already enrolled at Pepp and if I got accepted it would complicate my mind even more…but I can’t help but still wait and see. I just wish this process could be simpler. </3
Thank you! @CADREAMIN so if you had to pick a place you would personally pick University gateway? The lorenzo does look very nice, but the surrounding area not so much…
Have any cinematic arts applicants received letters yet?
@Caliweedandusc I had to go somewhere around there (near LA Trade Tech) to take my GED exam and it wasn’t the most pleasant area. I remember this group of guys asked if I wanted to smoke something from your username, haha. It can be a bit overwhelming/scary if you’re not used to such areas. Of course, my area isn’t the best either, so it didn’t really bother me.
@Caliweedandusc I would always pick USC Gateway, the convenience and feeling part of campus is worth it. Safe. They have the pretty wading pool, you get packages reliably, they have a workout center (I think students prefer gym at school, but it’s handy at Gateway if you want to jump on a treadmill) and super close to food places. And when mine were there, they actually had responsive service if something broke. Parking garage handy. So our experience was good and that was in the last couple years. It feels pretty much like a dorm.

@CADREAMIN Do you think there might be another acceptance wave today around 5? I live 5 mns away from USC. If accepted, do you think I’ll get the package before my portal updates?
@CADREAMIN do you expect a wave of decision to come out today for dornsife?
