2019-2020 USC Transfer

@katyamzz No, I applied to Dornsife. If you don’t receive the financial aid summary by tomorrow afternoon, I would call them. I just randomly checked my FAST portal because it was slow at work and it happened to be there. I have not received an email from financial aid telling me to check yet.

@FilmAve do you know the recommended credit levels for undergrad and graduate classes and if it’s possible to go over?

Really feel like a wave could come in the next few days. Things have been too quiet

Hello everyone.

I have submitted an application for admission for the next fall, in hopes of getting in for Marshall. I currently am at a 3.44 GPA and have been spring grade requested. I plan on getting all A’s this semester and ending with a 3.59 GPA overall. Considering my mother went to USC and that my first GPA was from partnered TTP abroad program (American University of Paris), what would you say my chances of admissions are this year?

Thank you in advanced for your response.

So I emailed my counselor and he talked about my decision in past tense. Could this mean that I will get a decision during this wave? Or does it mean that I will get a rejection when all of the other rejections come out? THIS WAIT IS AGONIZING!!!

I have been reading a lot of posts on this thread. Am I the only one that does not understand why people don’t know if their classes transfer? Like I am a freshman at a CC right now and I applied for Marshall. I did a lot of research (not that theres too much to research about) but all you have to do is use articulation agreement and then all those classes transfer. Also, I have a 4.0 Fall semester and also will be getting a 4.0 spring semester with most of my GE’s done and my pre -reqs (for Marshall) calc 1 and english were all fulfilled in the Fall. I also took the harder GE’s like bio with lab in the fall to make myself a stronger candidate. Anyone who made Marshall wanna give me input on my application? Do you think I would receive an acceptance right away or will I get a SGR? I really don’t want a SGR. Thanks

@ottogi My college doesn’t have an articulation agreement with USC. I don’t know what’s going to transfer or not.

I got nothing on my portal. ?

You don’t need an official articulation agreement to look at the history of transferable courses. Just visit this link and see what has transferred in the past: https://camel2.usc.edu/articagrmt/artic_hist_range.aspx

No portal changes…at all. This wait is really killing me. Based on last week’s wave, are we seeing a trend of decisions coming out on Wednesdays?

What are you guys emailing your counselors saying to where they are giving you your decisions basically? I really want to do that, but I don’t wanna annoy my counselor. I feel bad, but I’m just starting to get really stressed about this wait especially when I have 5 other colleges waiting on a decision. @CADREAMIN I know you’re gonna tell me to just wait lol. I agree with you, but man, this wait…

my portal just updated and I got a SGR for Marshall

@Rosekk I’ve noticed that trend as well. Hoping for it tomorrow but that may have been because it was the 1st of May. Over the years, I’ve noticed from the threads they seem to like Thursdays a lot.
Right there with you about how this wait is killing me…

Also, their semester ends officially tomorrow. They all have to be moved out of dorms by 5:00 PM PST. So what I’m hoping for that is that maybe they’ll start rolling admissions a bit quicker… who knows though.

I just got a news alert that they’re turning the college scandal into a TV show. ??‍♀️

@HeyItsNick Thanks for the link, it’s really helpful!

I’m getting confused on credits though. Any course under ALL COURSES THAT TRANSFER FOR CREDIT (Part III) will transfer as it’s listed, right? A stats course taken at a community college will transfer to USC as a stats course if it’s listed under that section?

@FemmeFilmFatale yes. if it is under the all courses then you will get the credit for them. a few of them will specify that they will only transfer for elective credit, but you will still get the credit for it. the ones that they do not take that you’re in will either not be listed at all or will say they do not transfer.

I am hoping to see a huge wave of acceptances tomorrow for everyone still waiting! I’m still anxious waiting to hear how it goes for everyone else here.

@vegastransfer Thanks for sticking around! It’s awesome that even though you received your decision you still want to participate in this community and see what happens for everyone else. You’re great!

Portal still pending.

Also, I emailed my USC counselor yesterday regarding an important information that I forgot to put in Common Application.

I forgot to put that my dad attended USC (he was a visiting scholar). However, my counselor still has not replied me yet. This information is critical so hopefully he sees it!
