2019-2020 USC Transfer

@CADREAMIN Also I found it weird that one of my friend got accepted in early July without receiving an SGR last year.

@sagaciousforever I felt like the wave on May 1 was a pretty big one for Marshall. Three of my friends, who are all junior Marshall applicants, were accepted. I think there will be small waves for sure, though.

@GotYa55 Are you sure the May 1st wave is big? I think it’s only a small wave since most Marshall applicants in this thread are still waiting. I think I am a very strong candidate (top 50 university, good essay, resume, and recommendation letters, 3.77 GPA) but I am still waiting.

But again, college confidential is only a small portion of the total Marshall applicant population.

Seemed like a smaller wave, I would have to think more decisions come out next week. But again, who knows.

@sagaciousforever True, it could’ve been a small one but like you said, CC only accounts for a small portion of usc applicants. I just remembered seeing a good amount of Marshall students getting accepted on May 1 as well as hearing from some of my friends at my community college. I hope you get good news, though!

@DDHH2017 I got a SGR for Viterbi, but I’m on TTP

@GotYa55 Thank you! I only see CC junior applicants in this thread got into Marshall on May 1st.

Hopefully I will hear good news soon.

@GotYa55 It’s kind of interesting now because I did not get an SGR , but I still sent my spring grades on May 29th. This should mean that I will get an acceptance or rejection by June 1st.

@sagaciousforever If they didn’t ask you for SGR and you turned one in, do you think it will still make a difference. If everyone were to think like you and turn in their spring grades regardless of receiving a SGR then wouldn’t that defeat the purpose of those who actually receive a SGR? Everyone would have a “SGR” in that sense right?

@HouseTrojan32 The problem is that most people end their spring semester after USC’s SGR.

For those who get their spring grades before SGR, it’s always good to submit them.

I went to the admission office early this week and they confirmed that it’s okay for me to upload my spring grades on the portal without getting an SGR.

It makes a lot of difference because for those who may get an SGR some point in May, they may hear back in June or even July. But if I turn in my spring grades before the SGR, I will definitely get a decision (acceptance or rejection) by the June 1st deadline. It matters a lot.

Anyways, we will see if I can get an acceptance or rejection by June 1st. If so, that will prove my theory is right.

@sagaciousforever Interesting

@sagaciousforever Well, either way you’ll still get a decision by May 31 since that’s what they said on their website.

@HouseTrojan32 No, the USC email that I received in February said:“We will send you an admission decision, or a request for spring 2019 grades, by May 31, 2019.”

A decision could be an SGR. But in my case, they won’t send SGR since I sent my spring grades.

@sagaciousforever Would that mean that you won’t be able to get a spring admission? I noticed most SGR students get an acceptance for spring admission. So SGR isn’t so bad

@HouseTrojan32 I don’t think so!

Last year, two friends of mine did not got an SGR and got into Spring 2019. One of them heard back in mid May and the other in early July (which is a very rare case because July passes USC’s promise for acceptance, rejection, or SGR).

Fall 2019 or Spring 2020 admission has nothing to do with SGR.

Oh haha sorry I wasn’t sure who he was! I’ve just seen the video on Twitter :slight_smile:

May 21st probably gonna be another big wave.

Anyone have a package coming from Orange, CA? My informed delivery has told me I have had a package en route from there. Is that USC?

@LittleCatSwagg no, usc is in dead center of LA so it would be from LA
