2019-2020 USC Transfer

Dornsife – haven’t heard back yet

@thedudeman20 Haha, we’ll see. I just checked my portal and it showed an update because I saw some others on this thread had gotten decisions. No email or any notification if I hadn’t checked, so keep checking!

No FA decision yet though, so I can’t get excited for a while longer still.

@thedudeman20 And yeah, my “skepticism” is more about the fact that I’m from a rural area and I’m not sure how comfortable I’d be in the middle of LA. Just personal.

While I’m very happy for everyone who received their acceptances today, my heart is breaking at the harrowing conclusion that a rejection may be on its way for me. This is my third year applying because this is the only place I’ve ever wanted to be. I am already beginning the process of writing my appeal because it’s looking grim.

@bksyazd Stay positive! Sending good vibes

@thedudeman20 I found out on my portal around 5:30 pm. Haven’t received email.

@bksyazd Don’t lose hope! There are still plenty of decisions to come out. As CADREAMIN has said in the past, decisions come out in spurts after the waves. It is still completely possible that you will find out next week or the week after!

Do they roll acceptances based on the order they review applications? Or do they roll them out randomly, by school?

Hey all,

I just read the SCA notification dates for transfers on the web…its update that transfers will hear back on June 1st instead of May 25th like it had originally said. Im a SCA film and production external transfer applicant and applied Feb 1st. Wishing all of you luck and love on this wait of anxiety!! We got this!!

@zettasyntax I haven’t been accepted yet so may be preemptive but I have been wondering. How does housing work for transfers? How often do transfers actually get housing? Where do most transfers live? Are there apartments in the area that pair roommates or how does that even work? It stresses me out to even think about lol

honestly I’m so over this wait just give me an answer idc if they reject me at this point I just want my application fee to mean something

thanks to everyone who has sent their regards lol i sincerely appreciate it! i have submitted my intent to register!

ACCEPTED!!
Dornsife, non-TTP, rising sophomore
THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR THE HELP, BEST OF LUCK TO EVERYONE <3
3.9 from high tier UC

@FemmeFilmFatale I hope you get in for SCA <3

I was accepted for English though because I wasn’t able to submit all required documents for an Art Portfolio. My admissions counselor did say I could do an internal major transfer to Roski. Does anyone know if this is hard? Any experience?

Congrats to everyone accepted! You all deserve it for waiting so patiently!!

@wanjunhing What was your major and how many units did you complete? Congrats btw

Have any Marines that applied through LSP heard back yet?

@nathanrodmar Marine here…whats LSP?

QUESTIONS:

  1. Were you surprised by the results? I did not really expect it, and was quite excited that I got in! YES!
  2. What do you think was your biggest strength/what got you in? I did show my academic rigor/ discipline through the very recent 2 semester when applying. Taking 24-25 credit units in math and sciences was a no joke honestly. I was quite overwhelmed, but definitely rewarding experience.
  3. Did you have any help with the application? I had multiple people proofread my essays.
  4. Are you going to attend? Why or why not? Likely if the financial aid package comes through
  5. Is USC your first choice? Depending on financial aid. I am excited quite frankly. I would still be thrilled to pursue undergraduate PharmSci (pre-med) at UCI because it offered me full tuition and board. However, if USC can offer the same scale of grants, I would consider going.
  6. Did you submit/did the materials (transcripts, etc.) arrive on, before, or the deadline?I did everything before the deadline.

Comments: good luck to everyone!
