Any non-production acceptances for SCA yet?
@MrSir323 congrats!! sorry i don’t have an answer to your question but where did you find the financial aid summary and how long did it take? thanks!
@nbk543 Aerospace Engineering.
I have other acceptances thus far in uiuc, virginia, ucla, and a few others.
Got into Georgia Tech for the summer and am taking 2 classes here now.
I’m likely to stay at GATech because of how good they are at Aerospace but boy does it feel good to get into a university whose essays were so intensive like USC.
Thus far my only rejections are Michigan (because my credit review for required classes came back too slow) and Maryland (got accepted to Letters and Sciences for second straight year, likely because Aero there may have been filled or nearly filled).
Did anybody get into Annenberg (comm specifically) today? I feel like they haven’t released that many decisions. Maybe tomorrow? I’m freaking out. Have any international students gotten in yet? Also, congrats to everybody who has gotten in!!
Does anyone know when merit awards are sent out? I heard that they aren’t sent out until mid-June and are very selective…can someone confirm this? It would help to know as soon as possible so I can figure out the financials and enroll.
Hi all! This is my first time posting here but I’ve been a longtime lurker of this thread. But I just wanted to let people know that I called USC admissions earlier today and the representative I talked to said that there were no rejections yet that she knew of. This might indicate that the May 31st date will be the ultimate rejection date, along with the few SGR people scattered throughout June and July. If anyone else heard differently from another USC official, feel free to correct me.
@calabafrance08_ Nope. Annenberg was my second choice (Marshall was my first). No SGR, nothing. Simply nothing.
@PinkCommunist You should be right.
There will probably still only be acceptances tomorrow. But Friday there will probably be a big wave of rejections and still some acceptances for sure.
Keep in mind that USC hasn’t released Spring admission yet, but the majority of the admits will make Fall. So people who haven’t heard back yet can still get into Fall.
@calabafrance08_ Haven’t heard anything too…
@transferusc88 Hear anything yet?
Has any International Relations applicants heard news back yet?
The reasons transfers have such a bad reputation at USC and other schools is while some do see USC as a dream school, many are just throwing applications at schools to see if they stick rather than being committed in spirit to a school. On here there there seems to be plenty applying just to see if they will get in, when they know they won’t go, or know they can’t afford to go (in which case why apply to one of the most expensive schools in the country)?
For those in love with the idea of going to USC, it has to sting to hear people say, ya got it in, but not going. So why didn’t those types pull their app?
@Trashception I see! You should be fine since you made Cal.
Hope that we will both get in.
@JCMaxwell
Edit: I was also rejected from Berkeley, likely because I may have pissed them off with a long response in my late January major academic update.
Have any Journalism major applicants heard back?
@JCMaxwell dude u should also consider ucla
@blueskies2day Many applied to see if they could receive a good financial package before deciding.
I think very few applied for fun or to just see if they can make it (let’s say their dream school is UCLA/UCB). And let’s say they make UCLA/UCB, getting into USC as well will just make them feel better. So why withdrawing since they paid the application fee?
@blueskies2day
I applied to around 15 schools as both a freshman last year and now a transfer. As a freshman my high school grades were terrible and I got rejected from all but one.
Now, I got into GATech for the summer early, but it turned out there was a significant error with my academic record that made me think my admission may have been invalid which was not fixed until 2 weeks ago.
Looking back on things, I regret taking so many spots from a dozen schools that others could have used. It is just hard for me to choose and after my experience applying as a freshman, I had a fear that I could still get rejected from a ton of places even though my GPA was much higher.
@sagaciousforever yeah I know I will be happy at Haas, I just want to know for my own personal reasons if I could have gotten into USC. It sounds really superficial and narcissistic so I make sure to keep everything on the DL haha.
I know there isn’t any Keck applicants here but there are some Price but has anyone from the “lesser applied” schools heard back yet lmao. Not sure how to phrase it really. but I’m keck and have heard nothing so i’m not part of the major schools so I’m kinda like idk! lmao
@rozhinging I went to bruin day and was pretty underwhelmed.
No one was there from Aerospace and they don’t offer Co-Ops like GATech and other universities do.
