@CSE111 Don’t give up, just wait… you never know, only 2 days left. Admissions this years haven’t been as usual.
@CSE111 that’s what i’m thinking…
did you apply as a sophomore or as a junior?
@sagaciousforever I suggest you relax and distract yourself by doing something else you enjoy for the next two days. I’m just watching netflix and studying for the lsat at the moment so I can “kill time”. It really sucks that we haven’t received a decision yet.
I expected my decision to come by May 15 at the latest, what a fool I am to believe that haha.
@woshua Your profile pic is lit! did you edit that? lol
@woshua 's pfp is a whole mood
@Brendyb10 They only take 140-150 applicants a year and so far we’ve had around 10-15 acceptances here, they have released most of the acceptances for sure.
@amghot Sophomore, have around 50 something transferable units
@DDHH2017 Don’t sign off before I can say Welcome to the Trojan Family! I have been in the city all day and driving a lot - checking updates at stoplights (don’t tell anyone, ha). Congrats to you all - I need to go through and catch up on all the good news.
And there’s a lot of jibberish and trash talking on here too - all you true in your heart Trojans in spirit just disregard it…this thread has been supportive for the last 12 months - let’s not lose that in the last couple days!
Does anyone have experience transferring in online language courses from CC? I remember reading something about USC not accepting online courses - why not? And how could they tell? My transcript shows no difference between online/in-seat classes, and the admins from my college seem to think there would be no way to tell.
@CADREAMIN You are the best!
@Brendyb10 wouldn’t have to submit TOEFL results because he is a U.S. citizen.
@lookingxaround I ran into this issue. I was sadly ignorant about the requirement of science+lab courses to be on-campus only. I was hoping they wouldn’t notice either, haha. But on my transfer credit report, it said something like “additional information required. our records show that this courses is available in an online/hybrid format”. If the language classes are offered online at your CC, they will know about this and ask for verification because yeah, transcripts don’t usually show this information. They will likely ask for some kind of class schedule that verifies the location of the class before allowing it to transfer over for credit. However, I guess this is really only a problem if you’ve completed a level III course in this manner. Otherwise, you need to take the placement test anyway and you’ll still have the knowledge from your online courses.
The best part about USC is how the Ronald Tutor Center at lunch time feels like you are in a mini-Times Square. Has anyone else noticed that while visiting? There’s a sea of faces, ages and languages - I always feel cool there standing in the middle of all that brilliance and positive aura going around (even though I am old, ha). I guess every great school has that kind of epi-center, but that is one of my favorite spots on campus. Just thought I’d share that.
@GoodAfternoonSir I found it online lol
@pleasgod so you can go to the financial aid summary by logging into your applicant portal then on the bottom it will show “Check financial aid here” and once you do, click the 2019-2020 year and if it’s been completed you for sure won’t miss it.
Also I submitted all documents a month ago, but I SIRd last week so, I can’t really give an answer to that’s one
As a backup plan, I have registered for Fall 2019 classes at my CC. When I send my transcripts to USC, will they be able to see that I registered for this classes? will they know that it is most likely a backup plan and it will not affect my decision in anyway?
@whatsup1995 on unofficial transcripts I think yes, but on official transcripts I don’t think they can see it. It shouldn’t matter if they see it, because I registered and still got in. Best of luck to you!
