I definitely feel the same way. My GPA is above admit range, coming from a good school, good ec and work experience. I think I had a pretty good essay as well. Tons of transfer and AP credits. No SGR. Met all prereqs and taking my last usc ge. I have no idea why I’m still waiting
@SonarBoom123 Expect to hear in June or July because SGR could significantly delay your final decision.
But if you are lucky enough, you may hear back tomorrow but I highly doubt it.
Does USC give good fin aid to transfers? (low-income background)
Also, do transfers usually get housing?
@vegastransfer For Marshall, there would definitely be a process similar to the Viterbi one. I spoke with somebody from last year’s thread that tried to do it for Marshall, but he never told me what the outcome was. I’m not sure about Price. I never got to meet a lot of Price people. But yeah, if you ask they’ll definitely tell you what the process is
@sagaciousforever I thought today was going to be rejection wave because I also couldn’t see them saving all the rejections for the end. I don’t know. Hopefully they break tradition and send large batches of acceptances if tomorrow is the rejection wave. This year seems crazy anyway, so I wouldn’t rule something like that out.
@mase31 If anybody asks me for GE recommendations, I’m going to strongly push the ones I took, haha. I think LING 115 makes for a fantastic course and it’s really enlightening.
hey guys. I called the admissions office today. They told me to send in Spring grades even though they didn’t ask for one.
She also told me all DECISIONS will be out by tomorrow.
@whostolemycookie I think USC admission is a bit different. UCI is also rolling and it releases all the acceptances first and then all waitlists and rejections. USC is different because it does not go by order.
The earlier that you hear back does not indicate that you are the most favorable applicant. I have heard plenty of strong applicants who heard back in the last day or even passed the deadline.
@zettasyntax just curious, why wouldn’t you see them saving rejections until the end?
@park240 Thank you for your update. This means that there will be a mix of acceptances and rejections tomorrow.
This is getting even more stressful.
@ca6882 This is very easy to explain. Tomorrow there will be acceptances for sure.
Many qualified applicants here are still waiting. 3.77 from Pepperdine here is waiting. Two people here who got into UCLA and University of Michigan are waiting and many more qualified individuals.
Therefore, I guarantee you that there will be some if not many of us who will make it tomorrow.
@ca6882 Hmm, it’s true that rejections usually happen near the end, but I don’t think they’ve usually happened on the very last day. I thought the rejections would happen today, for sure. I mean, I did think I was rejected a few years ago when I didn’t hear anything by their deadline, but I was accepted a few days later. That’s also why I think nobody should give up until the very end - and sometimes even later than that since in my case, the end wasn’t “June 1st”.
@tatapeaches2022 I applied for Marshall on a premed track you?
Just sent out spring grades even though I don’t have an SGR. Rising junior Annenberg applicant non-ttp.
@zettasyntax Yeah, there are exceptions despite it’s rare. My friend from Pepperdine who got into Marshall last year heard back in early July. He did not get an SGR. The difference between me and him is that I uploaded my spring grades even USC did not ask me. He did not submit his spring grades at all.
The deadline is not set, but we should definitely email USC admission if we still hear no SGR or a decision by tomorrow.
I am ttp marshall and have a 3.9 GPA where could it have gone wrong honestly? I havent gotten anything, not even an SGR.
@sagaciousforever A lot of qualified students don’t make it in, unfortunately. I was looking at the stats/decisions thread for last year and two 4.0 Marshall applicants were rejected.
No one should be sitting around waiting to hear in July without receiving an SGR. Contact USC on Monday if you have not been accepted, rejected or received an SGR. It makes no sense to get admitted in July without communication from USC.
@amghot Housing is not guaranteed for transfers, depends on when you submit app, what and if spots they have open up.
@SonarBoom123 Yes, OOS, international and instate have heard. Those desgnations don’t mean as much at a private university, except for balancing their class, but not for notifications.
Rejections have to be in next 24 -30 hours, so many will know what’s up.
Successful transfer appeals are virtually non existent. Frankly, been on here years and have never seen one, but it is a small pool statisitcally that post on here. From USC:
Transfer Applicants
USC does not have a formal appeal process for transfer applicants. If you wish to appeal our decision, please email your Admission Counselor a statement as to why you believe your application should be reconsidered. If you have recent grades we did not consider in our initial review, you should include those as well.
We cannot guarantee or estimate when you will receive a response to your appeal. Please understand that the chances of appeals being granted are very slim.
@HouseTrojan32 That’s true. But I don’t think tomorrow will only be rejections.
@sagaciousforever think you misunderstood my question, maybe I worded it weirdly! Was just asking why it was a bad and/or uncommon thing to save rejections for the last day.
I’m sure many people will get accepted tomorrow (good luck!!)
@blueskies2day what do you mean by “depends on when you submit app”? Do you mean the common app or the financial ones? I submitted everything in early January.
@blueskies2day If I do get rejected, should I email USC admission? I could not reach my USC counselor now because he is related to the scandal and no longer works for USC.
