I think this was a big waste of my time
I have a weird feeling that they just forgot about me but I think there’s enough of us still waiting for there to be another wave. Fingers crossed.
@whatsup1995 I don’t think impacted majors are a thing in private schools. It’s not like the UCs or CSU. I remember that’s what someone on this thread said a long time ago.
If you google “usc list of majors” it should pop up a list with percentage of graduates associated to said majors. However, the stats seem to be taken from 2016. Psychology was ranked 5th.
At this point we should just focus on the school which cares about us. Forget about SC.
I haven’t received a decision on my USC portal yet. They never asked me for a SGR either, I thought all decisions were supposed to come out by today?
No, I think there is another wave or many other waves coming out next week until July
USC said themselves that by today everyone would receive either a decision or SGR. I don’t know why some of us haven’t heard anything or if that’s normal.
Welp. Guess I just wasn’t good enough. I really wish they could provide some constructive criticism. I feel like maybe it was my GPA.
This one really hurt man.
@ncityusc exactly. i’m assuming that there will be another wave before midnight
@GotYa55 the acceptance rate (near 10%) was the rate that the incoming freshman this year experienced, however, i have heard people speculate that usc has had a higher retention rate of the acceptances that they had out to prospective freshman, corresponding to a lower transfer admit rate for this cycle
for any surviving viterbi’s, i got sgr-ed on tuesday and did not receive and update today either
Hey everyone I was accepted last Friday (5/24) and received the USC package today! Super dope
Congrats to everyone who got in and shout out to everyone here regardless of the outcome of decisions. Insanely proud of you guys, we all have great schools to attend in the fall.
But I don’t think they are still working lol. How do they release decisions without being at the office themselves ?
@ncityusc It’s pretty unusual. This happened to me about 4 years ago. I heard 1 week after their deadline. I don’t know if there are portal updates over the weekend, but if you’ve had absolutely no form of decision, I’d definitely call. I gave USC two business days before I called. I think that was 1 business day too much.
@ktlady You’d very likely have to apply as an internal transfer. I’ve no idea what the criteria for Annenberg is though, sorry :\ You’d probably have to wait a semester before you’d be considered for admission. Apparently they hold information sessions and they would tell you then what’s required to make the switch. I couldn’t find that information online, but it’s usually always grade/GPA related for other schools. Probably something like maintain a 3.0+ average. Sorry I couldn’t help more. Switching within schools is easy, but switching schools entirely is pretty much always a longer process.
@Steamedz I would call too. It’s pretty crazy of them not to give you a chance to send in spring grades if they asked for them. It definitely sounds like some kind of error that wasn’t in your favor. There’s really not a set process for appeals, so if you have to go down that route, I don’t believe the timing of when you have your grades ready for USC will hinder your chances. A lot of schools have semesters that go into June, so it would be unfair to hold that against you.
They close at 5 and decisions always come out after that, so it’s not a thing done by hand I’m assuming. Probably on some sort of timer.
@zettasyntax Gotcha, thank you. If I don’t hear anything back by 12 tonight I’ll call on Monday.
Decisions are probably uploaded before hand and released based on a set time. There was a wave this past month where decisions were announced around 10 p.m.
Dear USC experts (alumni, parents, students, mentors, and others) - Can you please help with a question?
We just found out that our son got accepted as a rising sophomore, but into his second choice of Mathematics (his first choice was Computer Science). He is currently at a school where he gets full tuition scholarship. We are just not sure if it’s worth for him to move to USC. Are the chances of transferring his major to CS good or are they slim? Any idea, based on your past experiences?
@lunar2015 It would be based on his performance in some core courses
As a mathematics major, it definitely sounds like he would be able to handle them. He would need to take courses like CSCI 103, CSCI 109, etc (the introductory CS courses) and maintain a B average (or very close to it). As long as he meets those requirements, he would be able to make the switch/his chances are very good. And congrats to your son!
Does anyone know when will credit report come out? I am interested how many units will be transferred lol.
Also, when will I be notified for housing? I applied and paid already.
Did u get in @transferusc88
Since u got accepted to USC can I have ur spot at Pepperdine? @sagaciousforever
