2019-2020 USC Transfer

@vousmeuerz i would say SIR to both tbh…you never know what you’re going to get with usc financial aid. if the enrollment deposit is too much you can submit the waiver when you SIR to see if you don’t have to pay and they accept it or decline it automatically

@vegastransfer troy hall wasn’t even on my preferences! it was at random so i’m thinking your preferences don’t really matter at this point and they’re going to place you anywhere lol

@filmmajorusc Okay thank you for advice! But is it okay to sir to two different schools?

@ncityusc Thanks! I should email the counselor

@filmmajorusc Yes transfer housing is usually just filling spots that come open. Anyone even getting housing should consider themselves fortunate, but choices/priority don’t mean anything for transfers. Even those admitted much earlier get placed randomly.

@vousmeuerz You really have to SIR both - you should have called this week to see if you could have got deadline extended, but it is too late for that now with it being the weekend. You will lose deposit at one of them. Realistically, what are you expecting from your FA appeal? Do you have any reason to think it will be successful?

@spumonii If you have a valid reason for withdrawing, I would say to send the explanation. I think it can only help you, I don’t see why it would hurt your chances to explain the circumstances that you were in that made you withdraw.

@vousmeuerz I would contact the counselor if I were you. I think they’ll adjust the date as long as you send email before 11:59 pm. I don’t think USC is that strict towards submitting SIR as long as there are valid reasons.

@lucky1177 Just sent an email to my counselor! Thanks

@USCtrojanpls I want to, yeah! It justs sucks that they o their website that there’s not like an official way to appeal as a transfer as the freshmen do, we have to email our counselor but mine never answers, have you email them? if yes, mind sending me a message with what they said? I read on the freshman appeals threat that they got asked for a page long appeal??

does anyone know how to set up your uscard?

@doodlesack You are unlikely to ever get a response because they clearly say they don’t have a process for transfer appeals and chances are extremely slim. They do not encourage them in any regard and they show this by not being responsive. Years go by with zero transfers getting in on appeal. Of course you can try, but you need to have something new and astounding (and even then still unlikely), and not just be penning another burning desire to go to USC. So give it a go, but don’t expect a reply that you sent it in.

anyone have david jones as their counselor? if so, does he respond to you guys because i have him and he hasnt responded to my past 3 emails over a span of 1 1/2 months smh.

Is there anyone on this thread that got in as a spring-admit transfer last year and has some experience?

Another week goes by and still nothing! haha I can’t believe they actually let people wait this long! Class starts in like 60 days!

Hey everyone, I was able to activate and get into the “myUSC” portal, but when I click on the OASIS widget, it tells me to put my ID number and my 6 digit pin. Do any of you know where I can find my 6 digit pin? Or is my acceptance still too recent for everything to be up and running?

Have any other spring admits had delays on their financial aid package? I was admitted on May 31, and it still just says in review.

@notarobot1 - Same here. My son is able to login to myUSC but not OASIS. Where does one get that 6 digit pin from?

@lunar2015 It used to be mmddyy by default, but I’ve seen nobody else mention that in the thread as far as I can tell. Maybe it just takes a little while longer to be given access.

Are you able to access myUSC if you haven’t SIR’d?

I’m getting really nervous that I haven’t heard back yet… I have to apply for housing at UNC soon and if I withdraw that after submitting I have to pay 50% of my fall semester rent. I already called USC Admissions and they said to expect an answer ASAP and hopefully by the end of this week (meaning yesterday). I’m just hoping they give me a decision next week
