Hey did anyone here take the Math placement exam yet?? How was it?
I took calc 1 last semester and got an A+…if I place into calc 1 with the exam do I need to take calc 1 again or will I be able to take Calc 2? If I get placed into pre calc would it be possible for me to take calc 2 or at least 1? lol
@amghot I already took the Math placement test. It was not really bad. I think it should not affect your class as you already finished calc 1. I just took it for my orientation. They better not messed up my math classes as I already finished Applied Differential Equations. lol
How long does SGR usually take back to hear? Turned my grades in on the 5th. Wondering if folks know the purpose of SGR, of course to check grades and for also required units but is there another reason to check?
How are your chances looking if your SGR is a 4.0? It seems kind of pointless for them to ask for spring grades if a 4.0 wouldn’t get you in, but this process is always highly variable.
I’m Dornsife
Primary:Econ/Math
Alternate: Econ
Cumulative GPA 3.82
if that helps
It also seemed like my admissions counselor was randomly fired??? I don’t know if that is going to throw a wrench in the works or anything.
@TheMaSharng im pretty sure someone on this thread actually got rejected with a 4.0 recently. In regards to your counselor, you should probably reach out to USC to make sure that your new counselor received your SGR and that everything was transferred over properly
@nk4321 I’m having the same issue! I attended a CC from 2014-2015 and didnt do so well there. Went to a different CC 2017-2019 for a fresh start and did amazing there but my TCR only reflects my time at the first school… I called and they basically said there’s nothing I can do at this point and it’ll be updated sometime before orientation they weren’t super helpful.
@90smix it’s odd that you’re even still waiting for a response. Have you tried contacting the office of admission? It’s clear you should have gotten a decision by now.
@90smix you need to contact them! Call admissions and let them know you haven’t received any update - no decision or SGR request is nuts at this point. Please call them!
