2019-2020 USC Transfer

@fuhnancy The SGR request disappearing indicates that they got your spring grades. I got my decision about one week later.

Thank you for all the replies to my question but I still have a question. When you submit your intent to register, it asks you whether you want to apply for housing, commute, or find housing elsewhere. If you selected either the commute or find housing elsewhere option, are you still allowed to apply for the university housing if you changed your mind? I want to know so I could apply for spring housing when it opens on July 1st.

Went into the USC admission center today and handed in a letter of explanation regarding a grade and my final transcript. Hope all goes well. Got the SGR about a month ago

For those of you who received a transfer merit scholarship, did it show up on your financial aid summary?

Hopefully many of us can hear back from USC today because it is the last day of June. I dont think USC will send out decision on Sat or Sun. It has been way too long

@RyanLam I heard that they still give out decisions in the first half of July.

@ryanlam I don’t think there will be a big wave until July. There was a big wave last year during July.

There may be some between now and then, but the week after the 4th ( so around July 8th-10th) should be the last hoorah. Maybe a straggler here or there after that, but most is wrapped up by that week.

@GotYa55 @MoonKnight @CADREAMIN This is the email i got from my USC counselor 2 weeks ago
"“Dear Ryan,
Transfer admission decisions are not all released on the same date. You will be finding out by the end of June regarding your admission decision”
So we may hear back today If u guys are in the exact same situation as mine which is Junior or Senior in CC transferring to USC and already sent SGR. Hopefully…

@CADREAMIN I sent in my official transcript 3 weeks ago and I still have an X next to my SGR. However, I called them about a week ago to ask if they received it yet and they said yes. Do you think I should call them and ask them why my portal still hasn’t been updated or just leave it be since they already confirmed that they got my official transcript? (I emailed my unofficial transcript and uploaded one on my portal prior to sending in my official as well.)

@GotYa55 i was in the exact same situation. Then i sent an email to my counselor. An hour later it was updated right away.

@RyanLam My counselor isn’t responsive  I’ve emailed her about a handful of times and she only responded to one of my emails. I called in a week ago to check on my transcript and also asked if I could have another counselor since mine wasn’t active but the lady on the phone said that she is active and is still working. I honestly don’t even know what to do…

@GotYa55 Maybe because u sent her too many emails that the system moved those emails to her spam box. I usually just send one email to my counselor and wait until he responds.
Anw Fyi, if USC said they already got your SIR then it will take few days to update to your portal. You don’t have to worry about that (Which i did 2 weeks ago lol)

Got placed into Trojan Hall as a sophomore transfer. I guess thats a first?

I’m not sure if I should stay here or Gateway. The reviews/comments about how awful Trojan Hall is (lack of AC/bathrooms being gross) are kinda turning me off.

@RyanLam I only sent her 4 emails during the entire process haha. But yeah I’ll just wait.

@GotYa55 I had emailed my counselor and she didn’t reply as well. It doesn’t necessarily mean she didn’t see my email. She could have been busy and just didn’t reply. Yet, I know she saw my emails because I told her I’d send the transcripts by mail and either the day or the day after my transcripts arrived was when I got a notification that a decision had been made on my admission status.

What time do decisions usually come in? Also do decisions come in on weekends?

The same thing happened to me. When I called the admissions office, they told me that my counselor left USC & I was assigned to a new one. When I emailed my new counselor my spring grades, my portal was immediately updated.

@939383 Decisions usually come in around 5-6 pm. I don’t think decisions come in on weekends since the admissions office is closed but I could be wrong.

Does anyone know the maximum number of credits one can take in the summer at USC?
