@trojantobemaybe I have a 4.0 gpa with 32 credits completed after spring semester. I have almost all my GE done except for two classes and have yet to get started on anything for my major, Chinese, bc it doesn’t transfer from my cc to USC.
@fuhnancy next week? My counsellor told me that everyone will hear back at the end of this week and now they are extending one more week?
Cant believe it. I guess we have to wait more and some of us even have to go through 1 more weekend for the decisions lol
The wait is killing me… I’m an international Marshall applicant. I’d really hope we hear something today
@RyanLam That’s what I was told. But from others on here, they said they would get back to us by the 15th. Honestly, I don’t know what time frame to truly follow because we are all given different information. From what I can gather, last year they were still handing some out around the 22/23 of July. I hope that it works out for all of us on here.
@fuhnancy that makes sense lol. My counsellor once even told me specifically i would hear back at the end of June. Then when i asked he changed to the end of this week. Now i believe it can be even later
Hey everyone. I am a fall admit but I recently decided on not going. I have a lease to the Lorenzo, so if you’re looking for housing PM me! The lorenzo is sold out at this time.
Those transfers who applied to UCs and CS and got accepted probably are not in the picture waiting . If you get in to Berkeley or UCLA , would you miss the admission opportunity and wait? I only applied to USC because I had completed only 55 units which was not enough to transfer last year. Something does not make sense. It might be because of extra audit layer after the recent Scandal. Not sure.
It is like this every year. No change to timing of notifications except they started a week or two later in April. But they always drag out this long for some. fyi.
Okay, so it seems they’re giving us all different answers to get us off the phone. I’m going to try a different approach. My step-father is alumni and gives a small donation to the school. He offered to call, so I’m going to have him do that. It may not be much, but maybe they’ll give him some more answers since he’s not a student applicant and is alumni. Not sure what else to do at this point. I’ll update everyone soon.
Hey guys I was just admitted to USC for the fall and committed. I activated my NetID or the ID for USC, but when do I actually receive my email account for USC?
@ackamucka Congratulations! Were you admitted today?
@transferusc88 I was admitted yesterday around 4:30 into Dornslife. I do plan on switching majors hopefully.
@ackamucka Oh that’s right you mentioned that yesterday, my bad! There’s so many of us on here I lose track lol. Hopefully you get switched! As for the email, a few people on the thread earlier in the year mentioned it took a day or two if I remember correctly. FA will take around 5-7 days also (I know you didn’t ask, but just in case you were wondering!) Again, congrats!
@CADREAMIN I do see the defer options on the portal, and I sent an email to a counselor listed to confirm I can defer for one semester and not a full school year. Thank you for your helpful advice! I listed my lease on the Facebook transfer page
@transferusc88 Thank you for your insight! Wishing you all the best and crossing my fingers for wonderful news for you SOON!
Okay, so got the information from my stepfather. He got off the phone with admissions, and he said they were very nice and sincere to him. They specifically said to him these are the last few days. Everything WILL be out no later than the 15th. There will be some coming these next few days, and then the final ones on the 15th. They said that it has nothing to do with the scandal, but that they are waiting on the last few people to be submitting their grades who are on the quarter system (idk why those wouldn’t be in by now, but that’s what they said). They also said that people with an SGR are always the last ones to hear, even appeals are usually prior to us and that is normal. It doesn’t affect our admittances. That is what he was told. They said if everything is in, you will be hearing either today, tomorrow, or Monday. Hopefully this is accurate. Again, this is only what was told to me by the admission center and I can’t confirm if it’s accurate. Just wanted to give everyone an update on what they told him.
@transferusc88 Thanks for looking into that as well. Honestly, I’m just super anxious at this point.
I got admitted into a couple of UCs, but not ones I want to attend unless I REAALLYYY have to. USC has such a strong alumni base, and my boyfriend also goes to Keck. I don’t necessarily want to leave SoCal, and it would break my heart to make another move to another university that I didn’t want to attend.
@fuhnancy I am in the same situation as you. I want USC really bad, but also got into a few UC’s that are more backup schools. My boyfriend is at Marshall currently. USC is just a little over an hour away from where my family and I live, and staying somewhat local to be near them is very important to me so I’m hoping to stay here too. Hoping you hear good news soon, you deserve it!
@blmcali99 For the placement exam, if you have taken all required math courses you still have to take it online and it won’t count against you. It’s just for their records
@transferusc88 what your relative got sounds completely accurate to me and in line with past years. Everyone kept bringing up the scandal affecting this or that but I couldn’t say enough times that nothing is different this year, just a bit slower start to transfer notifications. And also, there is a huge turnover in admissions counselors (it’s just a bridge job for many) and not everyone that disappeared was fired because of the scandal lol. Couldn’t stop that rumor train either. Hang in guys. The fact you haven’t been rejected and are still in the race is a good thing. Your has just been the marathon version. It seems like a long time to wait but for a great education it is worth it.
I compare it to childbirth. Once you have the baby (acceptance in hand) you forget about all that pain that came before.
