2019-2020 USC Transfer

@GotYa55 Ya frankly, it is difficult - but moreso an issue with transfers - a lengthy process. But nothing to lose emailing your advisor and asking…

@CADREAMIN Kind of a random question, but I was accepted to CSUF prior to my acceptance to USC. I paid the deposit and registered for classes. Should I notify them about my intention to withdraw? Sorry if this question sounds dumb, but I just want to make sure that the withdrawal does not affect my record. Thank you!

I’m very nervous to check. I got an email that I got an update to my portal.
I’ll tell you guys as soon as I open the decision.

@IsCollegeWorthIt same and im 99% sure its a reject

any rejections today?

@CADREAMIN I agree. Fall and Spring are not because that “they ran out of spots”. It matters more for them to see you as a good fit and they want to ensure that you can graduate on time as well. Therefore, I found many Fall admits could transfer above 60 units to USC while I could only transfer 52 units.

@sagaciousforever What are you planning on doing this Fall? I have the max amount of credits transferable to USC, so I cannot take any additional classes.

@transferusc88 So sorry to hear that. Where will you be heading in Fall?
Good luck and you will succeed wherever you go!

@steamedz I will continue to study at my old school Pepperdine for Fall. I will complete three to four GEs there so I could finish most GEs before I enter USC.

I could only transfer 52 units to USC so I still have this option. I advice you to take a gap semester for internship or simply relax if you cannot take any more classes.

@steamedz Do you need to wait for financial aid or are you 100% in for USC regardless? There is not a record to hurt by withdrawing, schools know people get into other schools, they plan on it. It could be why you or others got into USC…there is lots of movement over summer at every school. So withdraw once you hit the commit button to USC - all good! You can likely withdraw online…and if not, you email admissions.

@sagaciousforever Yes credit hours, but also maturity is also a factor used, they can see some kids aren’t ready for USC and need till spring. It’s not usually a divisive line on a single factor.

REJECTED  but i knew it was coming.
stats: 3.735->3.53 got my first C in a course that was major prep so that kinda threw it all off. 3 internships, okay essays, okay recommendations - sgr from local community college.

Had a horrible counselor who never responded to me so it was difficult to communicate with him. going to be retaking the C course and doing better

QUESTION TO ALL: are you allowed to take more classes if you already have more than 52 units? im kinda confused by this because i still want to reapply…? Plus, I have to be a full-time student

Just got admitted to Viterbi Spring 2020. Congrats to all the other admits!

ACCEPTED for Andrew and Erna Viterbi School of Engineering for Aerospace. SGR’ed May 28, checked portal at 5pm today. Incoming sophomore, 3.7 cumulative GPA from Boston University for Mechanical Engineering

SPRING 2020

Accepted to Dornsife Econ for spring, which is not when I wanted to start. My financial aid was not what I expected either so I’m off to Vanderbilt. Best of luck to everyone.

Got in for Spring 2020, Dornsife Econ. Applied for Marshall; sophomore international applicant from California. Anyone knows how easy it is for an internal transfer into Marshall?

OMG I GOT IN!!!
SOL PRICE SCHOOL OF PUBLIC POLICY
REAL ESTATE DEVELOPMENT MAJOR
GPA 3.68
NO TTP
IM SO HAPPY YALL

rejected. I think it was because I had a bad grade in my calc class for Marshall. Pretty bummed because I was on TTP and really hoped they would be able to find a spot considering all of my other grades were very strong and so was the rest of my application. Does anyone have any tips on appealing or how the process works?

@tryingtofighton i would try again next year if i were u
