@priewis9 Getting accepted for second choice majors for transfers isn’t common, but if you withdraw from calc, yes, you will be rejected. Grind it out and shoot for a B.
@shawnusc Just gotta wait and see, no crystal balls here. They don’t have enough spots for all that apply with good grades and prereqs, so some will get in, some won’t.
Is anyone here a global studies major?
I think they are going to release in may. whats everyone thinking?
@CADREAMIN how do you know that transfer applicants don’t typically get accepted to their second choice? What’s the point of putting a second choice if it’s not common for us to get in with that major
Does anybody know how soon after you fulfill your SGR they make a final decision?
@tommy9998 @CADREAMIN
Yeah.
I emailed my USC counselor and they said if there’s no space left for your first major, they will see if they have space for your second major
@TheCrookedSource i think you’re right. doesn’t seem like anyone heard anything today, even considering they released a good amount of decisions 4/23 last year
Hey guys, how does the admission process work? Like does it go to your first major and then if you get rejected it goes to your second major’s school? Also does your own admissions counselor at usc see ur application?
Wait if majors get filled up, and people cannot send their spring transcripts until early June, what does that mean for people with SGRs? I am going to call them tomorrow because I hope it doesn’t mean that you’re at a disadvantage
@gonnatranser oh interesting. I guess there is still time today? I wonder what time they release
@tommy9998 Before they consider your second choice, the school has to want you more and you have to be better than someone that picked that major as a first choice. Any school would rather pick someone that selects them as a first choice. Viterbi doesn’t consider any applicant that puts them as second choice, even during regular decisions.
Not saying it never happens, but it is not common in any regard.
@CADREAMIN I agree with you. It is important to show your confidence in applying to your desired major to USC. I only applied to Marshall and did not put a second choice.
I would rather being rejected but not majoring in a major that I do not like.
If decisions were to come out I feel like that they would be at 5pm
@CADREAMIN I figured, just wanted to make sure. Thank you.
@chels991 Yes if I withdraw before the 27th of this month I will receive a W. The major I picked for Dornsife was African American Studies
im guessing there were no decisions today?
I think decisions come out at 5pm PST in the past.
who do you guys have for your counselor
@gonnatranser Ramiro Campos
Why is my counselor so unresponsive :(.
Every counselor is different. Some answer quickly and others don’t seem to respond at all. During this process though, they are extremely busy and probably being bombarded with questions from so many students. I wish the process was easier because it is quite stressful for everyone, students and USC counselors. Please try to be patient and take comfort in knowing that if you have done your best, in the end, that’s all that matters.
