2019-2020 USC Transfer

My counselor was awesome in the beginning-- super responsive and eager to help. But not recently! I emailed him 3 days ago and nothing

@Steamedz have you tried adding your reference number on your application to the subject of the email? I never got a response until I started doing that.

@gonnatranser Jaclyn Robbin! Anyone else?

@Caliweedandusc I’ve had two counselor. The first one was very responsive ( I never gave him my reference number). The second one never responded to my emails from months ago.

@Steamedz hmmm, I personally think right now they are VERY busy… but, if its urgent I highly reccomend you calling.

Guess they arent coming out tonight

Just got a SGR, at 4:57 pm Apr 23. Sophomore applicant, 4.0 first semester for 15 units, currently doing 17 units, on track to get a 4.0 for spring too. California CC. Marshall applicant.

@KarlZ20 if you dont mind me asking, were you notified through email or the portal first?

@KarlZ20 do you have your Calc and Lower Div Writing done already?

I am actually losing my mind here. I spent the last two hours solely waiting for 5 pm just in case decisions came out.

@bksyazd Why would you do that? USC is not like UC, as it could release anytime. Student A got it on 5pm doesn’t mean that you will also get a notification.

@Caliweedandusc I just refreshed my portal, and the SGR popped up as part of my check-list, i got no email notification

What is a SGR tho… like a spring transcript request?

@whereto2022 I did Cambridge A levels, and my mathematics subject score satisfies the Calc requirement so I didn’t have to take it in college. I completed English 1 and will be done with English 2 this semester which will satisfy the writing requirement.

@sagaciousforever Because I’m a Masochist.

a SGR means I’ll have to submit my transcript for spring when it’s available at the end of the semester

Has any junior transfer (non TTP) from CCC received a decision yet?

@KarlZ20 Sorry that you got an SGR but not a straight acceptance letter.

One advice is to send that your new unofficial transcript (including your new spring grades) to your USC counselor via email. This will expedite your the decision process and you will hear back faster because official transcript (through mail) takes a lot of time for USC to process.

Mail your official transcript and email your USC counselor your unofficial transcript when it becomes available!

Has anyone checked the mail?

Do people with SGR’s get notified through mail as well? Like an envelope or something?
