2019-2020 USC Transfer

@KarlZ20 I was able to have one of transcripts checked off as received by emailing a screenshot of my grades to my councilor and uploading that picture on my portal. I called my councilor to make sure she received it.

@GoodAfternoonSir You get notified for SGR through portal first then email. This is because not everyone checks email every hour.

@sagaciousforever So only admitted applicants receive packages in regular mail then. I thought SGR’s would atleast receive a small envelope in regular mail since they’re not rejected nor accepted.

@bksyazd Is this for SGR? So you don’t need to send the official transcript at all ( like we did when we applied)? Are you saying that we only need the email the unofficial transcript with our new spring grades to our USC counselor?

Thanks for the advice! I just got an email as well from admissions, saying I should send in my spring grades asap for a final decision.

@Evaporation just did… nothing and I’m about an hour or so from USC

@GoodAfternoonSir I am not sure if you will get a physical mail/letter for SGR. But I think that only admitted students get envelop.

My final semester does not end until the end of May. Does that mean I have to wait for the semester to end before I send that update to my counselor?

@ard0815 Yes, you would have to wait unless you can finish and get all spring grades released earlier.

If you submit your spring grades at the end of May, you will probably have to wait until June and July to hear your decision.

@sagaciousforever I wouldn’t email the transcripts to the counselor at all. I uploaded my unofficial transcript on student portal under “Mid-Year Transcript”, called admissions the next day and they say they received it.

This expedites the whole process and since USC counselors might not even respond (mine doesn’t) this will make sure they receive it and in record time. Just make sure to send your official transcript too but do it after uploading your unofficial.

@ard0815 yeah wait until your final grades for this semester are released

@Sagacious I would FOR SURE send an official transcript to USC but if you are looking to see about the possibility of expediting the process, you could try how I did it. I also had to talk my councilor into accepting and unofficial format but I have all my documents checked off as received on my portal

@KarlZ20

No worries. You should also upload your unofficial transcript on the portal. The portal allows to upload files.

So:

  1. upload unofficial transcript on portal
  2. email your USC counselor the unofficial transcript
  3. mail the official transcript

The above three things will for sure help you out!

@GoodAfternoonSir Thanks for pointing that out. I forgot that portal allows you to upload files. We should do that to if we get an SGR.

So:

  1. upload unofficial transcript on portal
  2. email your USC counselor the unofficial transcript
  3. mail the official transcript

rising junior annenberg applicant. still nothing yet :frowning:

@sagaciousforever no need to do so much work haha. just first upload unofficial through portal, then send in official through electronic. They only want official as a formality otherwise they have no problem reading unofficial if the official transcript hasn’t been processed yet.

P.S: i got all this info from them directly, they told all of this to me themselves. So this information is completely true

Rising Marshall junior applicant. Still waiting as well. I have a feeling that I will hear back at some point this week or next week.

Fight on everyone! We are almost there.

@GoodAfternoonSir My USC counselor always responded my emails so I would do all three things if I do get an SGR. I have sent more than 10-20 emails communicating with my counselor.

@sagaciousforever There’s no need but it’s up to you. I wouldn’t bother as its just a waste of time emailing counselor when you can upload it yourself instantly, they receive it in less than 24 hours if not immediately. But hey its your choice

anyone applying to Viterbi got a SGR or WGR?
