And Martinez getting ejected!
Game 7 it is. I love Game 7’s.
^^More baseball for your buck. ?
What a game!! GO NATS!!!
So bizarre that all six games have been won by the away team! I’m looking forward to tonight’s game. I’ve enjoyed this Series.
Go Nats! #FINISHTHEFIGHT! This has been such an amazing season. No matter what I will be sorry to see it end.
I’ll have to disagree with our esteemed mod. The games haven’t been very close. Last night’s game did have Martinez being thrown out of the game and Bregman carrying the bat (though he apologized
), plus the HR to put the Nats ahead, but there needs to be more tension and controversy for me, since I have no dog in this hunt.
Well, look forward to rising country star Cody Johnson singing the National Anthem tonight! I love his voice.
@garland, #JoeBShark is a joke about one of the Caps announcers who is alway dressed to the nines and is so dignified. He wore a Baby Shark costume as the Caps filmed a skit about the Nats when the Caps were in Edmonton last week. The Caps have been tremendously supportive of the Nats, just as the Nats were huge fans when the Caps won the Stanley Cup. It’s great to see the local teams supporting each other.
Going to the watch party at Nats Park again tonight! The team just announced all 36,000 free tickets are gone. It will be total mayhem. Let’s go 1-0 today!
S2 has been watching the games from his apartment in Ukraine – first pitch is at 3:08 am. We WhatsApp the entire time. He has committed to staying overseas as long as DC-area teams keep winning championships. When we dropped him off at the airport the day he moved (early march 2018), he told me the Caps would win the Stanley Cup because he wouldn’t be there to see it. History may be about to repeat itself!
I will not mention how much I spent in postage to ship him Caps Cup swag. At least he’s coming back here for a few weeks in Dec.-Jan. so I can just hand him stuff.
I don’t have much of a dog in the hunt – I’m rooting for the Astros because our best friends’ child works for them – but I have found the games a lot more entertaining than the score. Last night, it was a super-close game for six innings before the Nats broke it open in the seventh, right after the horrible call that could have handed the series to the Astros. Strasburg was amazing to watch. I don’t mind if it’s a great game, but I can still go to bed at 11:00 without being afraid of missing something.
Last night’s game was just amazing in so many ways.
It feels so odd to be in the post-season without S18 here. We’ve been texting during games and videocalled him right after the Curly W last night. He has team practice tonight during most of the game, sadly! But it may still be going on when he gets back, and we’ll talk during the early part.
Go Nats! #FINISHTHEFIGHT
enjoy the watch party, everyone going to the Stadium!
I am rooting for the Nats because they beat the Cardinals. I agree that that call at first base was terrible! So was glad when they hit that homer and blew it open.
There were hours on the post game shows about the call at 1st base. One of the expert announcers thought it was the correct call, that the runner wasn’t in the correct lane and the other announcer thought the RULE is wrong, not necessarily the call.
Pedro stayed out of it because he was a pitcher in the AL and rarely batted and even less often ran to first base.
I had to watch the post game because I had to leave to pick up my daughter at the snowy snowy airport just in the bottom of the 5th when the Astros had 2 on. Some kids have no respect for important sports moments.
S2 is my sports bud. He said the hardest part of being an expat is missing his home teams. For me, it’s not having my buddy to attend games with me!
geez, those Astros fans sure are a fair-weather bunch. Prices for tickets for Game 7 have been dropping like a rock on the secondary markets.
Meanwhile, despite rainy weather, tickets for the watch party tonight at Nats Park are “sold out” (free, but all have been claimed). No fair weather fans, literally, here in DC tonight!
Since the Nats play better when I don’t watch the 1st part of the game- I didn’t start watching until the top of the 7th.

Let’s go former Expos! 2 more innings. And everybody loves an underdog.
If the Cardinals were in the World Series, I would have to root for them because of kid’s current college. Which goes against my allegiance to the San Francisco Giants. But the Nats are a feel good story and a likable team. Especially without Bryce Harper.
