2020-2021 USC Transfer

I haven’t heard anything about any bio majors… wondering if anyone has heard about bio for Dornsife

I haven’t heard about Bio, or many other of the Dornsife majors on here…Has anyone heard anything about Cog Sci for Dornsife?

Withdrawing my Viterbi app, hope everyone here receives good news! <3

@CADREAMIN but if they were overenrolled after May 1, wouldn’t they accept NO appeals? There were at least a handful of accepted appeals on CC, and I’m sure there are more that never reported here or on Reddit. I would think this is a good indicator that their enrollment was OK and might be good for transfer applicants??

@CHVRCHES what made you with draw for Viterbi?

No, I got winter grade request a few months ago and spring grade request about a month ago, no decision yet.

@AE2000 I just committed to Northwestern (my dream school)! I didn’t withdraw my remaining apps at first to keep my options open just in case, but I thought I might as well in case that spot could go to someone else whose top choice is USC.

Actually, thats not true, not only do I have Legacy but my Grand Father Gene Polito was a famous cinematographer at Warner Bros, and after retirement became a professor at USC-SCA in Film and Television ( I applied for Film & televsion) and my Grandfather is on the school website as a legend and legacy he invented lenses and things they still use at the school, as well as he attended USC and has students that he taught that still work there and I have not received anything descison either. I have 80 credits (almost my AA transfer degree so technically they could make a descion now but they wait until all applications are in I guess ) so being a legacy doesn’t matter, it seems only money.

@StudenteUn3789 Yes, there is a Cog Sci admit on the facebook group. I believe one other Dornsife major as well.

also they told me specifically decisions wont be made for transfer until after May 31 until as late a July 1, unless you were flat out denied already its very confusing as after this quarter I will have completed my AA transfer degree to a four year college as this will be my LAST quarter ( which has all GE’s, 3 semesters of foreign language, humanities, math, science, and 3 english classes including a Shakespeare etc) so I could go right into major as they require those for degree) and currently have 82 credits so after this quarter I will have a transfer degree so they are waiting and asking for grades to prolong the decision making until get all of them at once and decide, at least thats what I think, also my grandfather was a famous professor at USC legacy and nominated for Academy awards (he filmed the first west world & cheek and Chong up in smoke). So not sure why this is taking so long.

@Bellevue34 Is this your second time applying?

@Bellevue34 For all transfer applicants or those with SGR requests? That seems like it’d be excessively dragged out for those without an SGR request…

Hopefully some decisions at 5 today

@anotherbun I have to assume they mean those with SGRs. Considering people have already been hearing back (although small groups). As USC has been saying, everyone will hear something back by June 1st. Whether it is a SRG, acceptance, or denial-- most people will hear back in the next few weeks.

As people have pointed out before: there are some people who do not hear back until after the June 1st deadline. However, in years past its been relatively few. Who knows how this will pan out? There is so much speculation and conjecture that I take everything people say on here with a grain of salt.

I’ve heard nothing, so I’m pretty much trying to accept its not very likely. I’d rather be rejected right now , if I’m going to be, then it be strung out until May 31. I’m probably overly pessimsitic in the matter, but that’s how I feel. I know where I stand with every other college, including ones of similar size.

@NavyGuy2019 You’re saying that there are still people that hear after the deadline of June 1st, without getting any response between that time? Or do you mean the people who have received SGRs?

@nyeoominheelys There are people who hear nothing until after the June 1st deadline. No SGR, no acceptance, no rejection but it seems very rare. There is someone who is applying this year who talked about it happening to them last year. It is like 50-60 pages back by this point.

@grapesoda2 most people haven’t heard back yet. You should stop beating yourself up over it. I know the wait is causing a lot of anxiety but anything worth doing is worth waiting for. You have 16 days until you will likely hear something back. 16 days from now you’ll know the next step in your life. I think that’s a pretty cool thing that not many people get to say.

Even if you don’t get into USC, you’ll know where you are going 16 days from now.

@Nazarzzzz last year they waited until the very end to get my rejection, right on the 31st.

@CHVRCHES where are you going??

@WCWSM52 whats the name of the sub on Reddit?
