2020-2021 USC Transfer

Any TTPs didn’t hear back yet? I know few TTPs applying to Viterbi haven’t gotten anything yet, no decisions, no SPRs or WGRs.

nope, I haven’t heard anything and I’m a ttp applying to Dornsife

@alredm are you a ttp also?

I got an SGR for CS in April during the first round of SGRs. My semester ends this week and I have all A’s except for one class that will either end as a B or B+ (don’t know yet). Should I P/F that one class and leave the rest A’s or do you think it’d look better to leave the B or B+?

@shawnwahi I think you are fine. USC for the most part wants to see that you are overall well rounded and still getting strong grades in demanding courses, not perfect grades. Remember, there are still SGRs that get 4.0’s and get rejected. Not to scare you, just reminding you they look holistically at the individual! I don’t think it will hurt you to leave it.

@nyeoominheelys yup, TTP here

so do you just submit your unofficial grades? do you have to tell anyone in admissions after you send them?

@shawnwahi Leave the B or B+. Frankly, P/F has a perception that it is likely being used for a C or lower. Engineering doesn’t like fudging which is another thing the P/F emits, put the B out there.

Is it just me or have a lot more TTPs this year more than I have ever heard of, gotten SGRs? Why is that the case?

@nyeoominheelys have you gotten a SGR? I haven’t received anything besides a wgr.

@alfredm no, I haven’t received any notice of any kind. no WGR or SGR, not anything.

I’m getting super nervous. I’m psych dornsife and havent gotten an SGR or WGR.

On USC’s Transfer website:

ext Steps: Fall Transfer Admits

Here are the steps you need to take to accept our offer of admission and enroll at USC:

  1. Enrollment Commitment Deposit and Form: By June 1 (or two weeks after receiving your admission letter)

Does that mean USC gives 1 day to commit if decisions come out May 31?
Two weeks from June 1st (after receiving admission) is May 18th???

Could this be true?

@transfer2024 I hope it is true. But might not be due to the decisions of SGR recipients likely being released after June 1

Hi! If you don’t mind my asking, what was your financial award like? Did they give you an adequate amount of money or did you have to take out some loans? Also, do you know anyone whose transferred into the USC School of Pharmacy?

@transfer2024 I think you misread that :frowning:
Deadline to enroll is June 1 /or/ two weeks after you receive your acceptance letter, whichever is later. So I believe basically if you receive an acceptance from May 18 on, you have 2 weeks after your letter comes in to commit.
Basically for all we know we might still be waiting until May 31.
I did message my admissions counselor, and she pretty much said all transfers should have a decision or SGR request by May 31.
The only good thing about me not being enrolled this semester is at least I’ll definitely have some sort of decision by then ?

What are we thinking about tmrw? Anyone inclined to believe some of us are going to get sort of response ?

I think what @CADREAMIN said made sense. I don’t think it’s likely that we’ll hear tomorrow, because all of the admissions and staff will be celebrating their virtual commencement.

I just now received an email for a WGR. Never received a SGR. I took 2 classes in the winter and got A’s in both. How long does it typically take to hear their decision after you send in your transcripts with winter grades? --Thanks
