2020-2021 USC Transfer

@99suhjw This is probably gonna sound like the dumbest answer but I only applied to USC. Considering every school wants has different portfolio requirements, I work full time, and I was still taking classes during the deadlines, I kind of put all my eggs into one basket ?
Anyone else in a similar boat?

@anotherbun whew, if you’re a junior, thats quite a risk lol. Good luck! hope you get in

Just got a spring grade request on my portal today. Virterbri CS Junior Applicant

I go to a UC, so guess a decision would come in June :// Another long wait lmao

@anotherbun Same, and we’re both applying to SCA. haha. I only have 49 transferrable credits though (according to USC’s articulation agreement)

@bean01262020 I am probably considered the superest of seniors and I actually graduated with my AA last summer… I have almost enough credits to get a BA, lol. I’m okay if I don’t get in though, I’m planning on dropping hours so I can reapply and actually apply to more than one school second time around.

Looks like some Viterbi applicants are getting some SGRs now.

@99suhjw I’m a freshman right now and applied as a sophomore applicant, so I had about 40 units. Not enough for UC since I’m in my first year of college. So, I only applied to LMU and USC. I got into LMU but I’m waiting for USC!

I received an SGR for Viterbi Aerospace Engineering. Just showed up in my portal. No email or anything. Guess I’m waiting for a while now…

@“UCLA22CogSci/LINGCS” They aren’t extremely behind. This waiting game is pretty common, although there should be a decent wave anytime. There is usually a decent one a week or two (now) before the big end of the month results. It is this painful EVERY year.

By May 31st, “all” of you will have been accepted, or have received an SGR or be rejected. Likely by the 29th rather than 31st. However, there are some stragglers (hello @zettasyntax ) who somehow don’t get anything by the 31st and are like what the heck? (other word likely there). But those are just a random few kind of thing (but does happen). Exception not the rule. So everyone with later terms (and SGRs) into June will just be the ones waiting. But it is a small percentage compared to the whole bushel of apples waiting now.

To repeat what @NavyGuy2019 has said as well for those in the cheap seats - if you have good grades, send them in even if they didn’t ask. 100% they will look at them and add to file. Good move. Shows you are interested and have initiative. It is your chance to say, “Hey look at me, I still want to go to USC!”

I got into Loyola and Emerson for Journalism so if I don’t get into USC it’s between those two! Anyone else have those schools as options? If so, which are you leaning towards?

yeah same, no email, just portal

This might be a weird question, but my school doesn’t give out midterm reports easily. So, can I takes a picture of the computer screen of my grades on canvas and upload it lol

@AE2000 @dsl123 just wondering, are you guys sophomore or junior applicants?

cause my semester ends mid-june

Any bio majors hear anything at all? SGRs? acceptances? I haven’t heard anything

This is probably a dumb question, but if I sent in my official spring grades early (before hearing anything back from USC), will I not get a spring grade request and just get a decision? I know some other people on here have done the same, and am curious if doing this will ensure a decision by May 31st rather than a SGR.

@Southbaydude I submitted mine last year and the next day they requested it. However, two days later they verified they received it. So you might get a request after you send it but they’ll automatically look at the grades you uploaded.

Hoping for a wave this evening. Good luck to everyone!

My son is a Viterbi CS applicant and received an SGR today.
