2020-2021 USC Transfer

@NavyGuy2019 I dont see any commitment deposit waiver for vets bro. would be really nice if they have a waiver for that though.

USC SCA/Annenberg Freshman applicant here and I just got a sgr email a little after 8pm.

non ttp non legacy non ccc

@NavyGuy2019 I paid the full deposit, I don’t recall seeing a Veterans waiver option in the deposit options. There is a financial hardship option I believe, but I didn’t click on that link to see what the qualifications/requirements were.

As of right now I’ve committed to Berkeley but as USC is still my first choice I haven’t withdrawn my app.

@transfer2847372 production or CAMS?

I was just watching the news and they said USC is raising their tuition by 3.5% for the 2020-2021 school year due to COVID-19.

@tmsavage Pretty sure their budget was finalized before the virus had a considerable impact on the US.

For Viterbi! There are a couple of applicants who have already been admitted. In terms of SGR’s, there are a few applicants who have received such including myself. I received mine today at around 6 pm. I’m aerospace engineering if that matters.

It’s not due to covid-19, it’s in the midst of Covid. They raise their tuition every year. 3.5%± is standard each year. This I know; I have had one or two students there every year for 10 years. For example, a year ago this past March…

Mar 18, 2019 - USC’s tuition will increase 3.5 percent from last year. … Tuition for the 2019-2020 school year will total $57,256, up from $55,320 tuition for the…

or the year before that

Mar 7, 2018 - USC’s tuition price is increasing for the 2018-2019 school year. Many USC students are concerned after USC announced on Monday a $1,872 undergraduate tuition increase of 3.4% for the 2018-2019 school year, bringing the total cost of tuition to $55,320.

I could do this for every year backwards!

I’m no virologist but if covid19 hasn’t died off this spring and won’t this summer, what makes you guys think school won’t be online spring 2021? Also, how are international students able to keep up with school, Usc’s largest international population comes from china and china is 15 hours ahead of la!!? I understand they can rewatch lectures but what about labs and interactive classes… how is that even possible

I also have been accepted to Berkeley and just got a SGR today for Viterbi - Computer Science. The USC advisor at my cc advised us to SIR at UC’s as USC will likely release a decision mid-July if SGR’d. I submitted my deposit to Cal and enrolled in their transfer edge program to take a pre -req so I can declare CS in the College of L&S ASAP. The class starts on June 22nd. If USC accepts me after my SGR is fufilled, will I still be able to attend if I drop out of that summer class at Cal ?

i did exactly that, took classes during the summer and transfer edge, im L&S and was able to declare fast. but sometimes berkeley made WANT TO KILL MYSELF OR WISH I WAS DEAD, bo social life, nobody talks to each other after class everything is so dull. im sure you heard about that before, if you want to join clubs you literally have to apply to see if you get accepted

More schools are gonna just have to offer more asynchronous online classes to accommodate.

Me too!! Same major and everything! PM me your insta and we can talk more maybe?

Whats LOR??? and how much is the deposit???

i ended up SIR’ing to UCLA instead of berk for that exact reason hahahah hoping for USC tho

I’m a rising junior Annenberg applicant and I have yet to receive a WGR or SGR but I submitted my winter grades anyways. Is it still likely for me to get a decision by May 31st? And is there still a chance its an acceptance? ahha

@ascendiox idk man. Internationals make up nearly 20% of USC’s student body and are paying full tuition too. On top of that, the U.S. is at its current highest unemployment rate since the Great Depression!!! California extended stay-at-home orders for another 3 months, small businesses are going bankrupt. In all honesty, I just don’t see alot of students returning this upcoming school year at usc. Maybe thats why usc gave out sooo many transfers SGRs this year.

So no results today as expected except for a single Thorton post, which makes sense as they are a lone ranger when it comes to admission, even in the regular cycle. Congrats @magicalturtle - great major! Should be a busy week, here’s hoping!

@CADREAMIN so we should expect a big wave of acceptances next week and then expect a mix of acceptances and rejections to roll in on the week after?
