@UscTransfer2433 I’m not really all that knowledgeable either, but I helped a family member set up her PC so she can work from home. The ER where Keck students are taught is doing somewhat okay in terms of cases (well at least when compared to other hot spots like New York). They put on announcements weekly and in the latest one on Wednesday, they mentioned that they’ve had about 300+ cases total with 27 deaths and 260 recoveries. They are still admitting almost as many as they discharge though. I don’t know what other hospitals are like since they don’t seem to address recoveries in LA County for some reason. This is arguably the busiest ER in the county. My aunt used to joke that a 24+ hour wait is almost a guarantee. But yeah, even if Los Angeles does really well to contain the virus, a bunch of traveling/international students could be bad. I think live/hybrid is a good idea. I don’t intend to return to Washington for my final year of my graduate program. I’ll just do the classes online.
@zettasyntax I mean yeah LA is doing a good job containing the virus compared to other parts of the country/world. But I’m taking an economic standpoint and all these safety measures are hurting the economy. Like if the unemployment rate hit 14.7% during the first wave and if there’s a second wave, I can’t even imagine what that figure will reach. If I get admitted and somehow usc allows students back, I’d be terrified to even step foot on campus. I mean let’s be honest, downtown LA isn’t the safest and things get scary when people lose their jobs and start panicking.

Hi guys! I did not get a spring grade request and I am wondering if that is a bad sign? I have a 4.0 and am on the Dean’s list for my previous semesters so maybe its ok? Getting nervous about all of the waiting time.
Hi guys! I got WGR’d almost a month ago. Does that mean I’ll either get accepted or rejected by the 31st?? Will they ask me again for my SGR later (My quarter ends in mid-June)??? Kinda confused on how this whole things works.
For anyone who has submitted their Spring grades… how long did it take for USC to acknowledge that they received them in the portal?
@Colemc12 i didn’t receive a WGR/SGR but since my grades were good I sent my spring grades via the portal (unofficial) and electronically to USC (official). I emailed my counselor at night and they responded the next morning saying it’s been added it to my file
@Colemc12 it takes usually 3-5 business days for them to update your portal.
@CADREAMIN , would you recommend I send my final grades to USC? I just got them back today: I got 3 A’s, 1 B+, 1 Pass, and 1 Withdrawal. I’m applying to Viterbi CS, and I haven’t received an SGR as a junior applicant. The W is in a chemistry course that is strongly recommended…
I’m thinking about waiting to see if I hear back next week and if not, then I’ll send them.
I was accepted into viterbi CS last month (as a junior transfer applicant). I also have a shxt ton of courses in progress, so I also wanted to withdraw a course. I asked the admissions about this, but they said that I should get B and above for all the courses.
If you withdrew one of your courses that you put in your application as planned courses, then I suggest you call the admissions for details.
if i send in my spring grades and they’re good even though usc never sent me an sgr, would it negatively impact my decision?
@justasadboy Sending in your grades (especially if they’re good) will not impact you negatively.
Why do mass rejections come out right before the 31st when USC claims they don’t sit on decisions and send them out immediately after analyzing your application?
@jdambrosi I think USC does this so that students who are accepted have time to decide on whether to attend or not. Those that aren’t offered admissions don’t need time to make a decision.
Last year rejections were as late as possible, actually on the 31st, ugh at like 5pm. But actually, that was out of step for them and ridiculously late. Prior to last year, rejections typically rolled out what would be next Sunday morning, the 24th, with rejections rolling out late Saturday night, just after midnight. If a good number of acceptances roll out this week, it likely means the 24th could be rejection day (Sunday, bloody Sunday as some think of it). If it’s a slow week for acceptances, it likely means the process is getting dragged all the way out into the next week and to the end of month.
does usc give out your financial aid offer upon acceptance or does it take time for us to see it? i have to put down a deposit for another school by june 1 and if i happen to get accepted into usc at the end of the month i need to know my aid before making a decision
@Navyguy2019- Thanks for comments, correct not about right or wrong, I am simply giving my opinion as you, and I didn’t call them I emailed admissions after getting a spring grades request, as they’re not using me a “spring board” whatever that means, I contacted admissions via email asking them since my spring quarter CC does not end until June 19 (I have 82 credits at this time) and that I have way over the amount of credits needed to transfer and will not have my CC spring grades until the end of June and also by then will have completed my Arts and Applied Science transfer degree I was confused why they could not make a descion sooner to those with enough credits already, as to me it did not make sense, the admission department sent a email back weeks later saying "decisions may not be sent out until as late as July 1st. Also, if you read the USC portal it specifically says “Transfer Students will either get a admissions decision OR request spring grades BY May 31, so that to me tells, if you were asked for spring grades that you may not get a decision until AFTER MAY 31, that was my only point, Its called 'fact finding” and “common sense”, I am giving my opinion as well as “they” are not telling me anything that I haven’t read on the website! Also, since they are not opening now until December who knows whats going. On, this is a forum I am telling you my experience and what I found out. Good luck!
I heard was not opening unitl December as all over the news, but thanks for info.
@anotherbun Thanks for info!
