2020-2021 USC Transfer

Have you heard? Do they having rolling admissions for transfers I’m in knots

Hi @CADREAMIN i have an updated file and am now waiting. To they send out weekly, daily?
Ty

Did you get a spring admit and when? Ty

@Eieio123 It’s best to be patient, we can’t certainly know when applicants will hear back.

20 minutes. I sent in on May, 15th

I was accepted to the Music Industry major in Thornton today! GPA: 3.4 from a California community college. I submitted my application December 1st <3 received an email that I had a status update around 11:30 this morning

@glittergurl300 Congrats! Join the facebook group if you haven’t already!

Same goes for anyone else who hears back today! There’s also a Snapchat group that started!

Thornton is rolling out now huh. Hope we hear more from Viterbi by Friday but if not… gg

Have any Dornsife or Annenberg applicants heard anything yet? I feel like we’ve seen a lot of Marshall and Viterbi decisions/SGRs on this thread, but not much from the other schools.

I applied to both and haven’t heard anything

I applied to Annenberg and I haven’t heard anything yet

I’m just thinking out some general numbers here so don’t mind me but let’s just say they have space for 200 people in that program, I would expect that their acceptances match the norm of the school so roughly 70-80% of the students will be coming in as freshmen. Let’s just say that makes up 140-160 of the people in the program. So the entire school might have 40 transfer kids in it? Of that, I would then say probably 10-20 people get picked from transfers each year.

Those numbers aren’t actually representative of anything because I don’t have the real numbers but I would be surprised if more than 20 people get accepted into that program every year out of the transfer pull. I hope we all get into the program but I don’t think reality supports that.

I went into this knowing that I was applying to a small school and an even smaller program. The good news is I would be willing to also bet that the amount of applicants for that school is small. I would be shocked if more than 100 kids applied for this program, since it is still so new.

Does Dornsife usually hear last? Seems like its going to be the trend this year

Dornsife-nothing. Guess, maybe this week. Then, some small waves next week. USC admission are so slow. By the way, there might be some conditional offer. For example, you have to attend the fall semester if you are going to attend USC.(Boston U has it this year.)In order to keep the money, the USC admission must be having some special plans which takes time, so we have to wait until now…

Is anyone else waiting for Marshall?

@Eric392014 where did you hear that about BU? I was accepted and haven’t seen/heard that anywhere…

has there been any dornsife rejections yet?

@mill213 Sorry about the misunderstanding. The kind of offer I reffered is called a conditional offer, but what you have might be a regular offer. This could be the reason.

@“Prash Patil” I don’t think there has been any acceptances at all today outside of Thornton, at least not on here.

Hi, I’m new to this site and was hoping to get some advice on the transfer process and maybe some positive feedback on my chances on getting into USC Marshall.
I’m an older applicant, I went to college back in 2010-2013, had some personal issues and decided to join the Marine Corps. My grades during HS and early years of college were not the best. I did some schooling in the Marine Corps and received all A’s. I believe there was definitely a maturity issue on my part, which I obtained while I served. Once I got out I enrolled at SMC and completed my fall semester with all A’s, most we GE classes. I then enrolled in the winter semester and got a B in a GE. I submitted my application and got an SGR request in early May.
I was just curious if my chances are favorable or if I should done more.
