2020-2021 USC Transfer

@arjauregui nope. There was 2 people that got accepted this week for Thornton. Then another 2 for Dornsife.

I copy pasted below USC Transfer Admissions page , not sure if it will help anyone, but specifically says no early decisions, so I think everyone to stay positive;) Obviously, not mailed this year due to Covid-19 and says June 1,

“When will you hear from us?
All transfer applicants who submit a complete application by the deadline will be mailed an admission decision or a request for spring semester grades by June 1st. USC does not have an early decision program. Only notification from the USC Office of Undergraduate Admission constitutes an offer of admission.”

@SlackJack006 I am wondering the same thing! However, I am a Dornsife applicant.

.

@arjauregui
Nothing is coming in the mail. The admissions portal says,

"While we remain excited to welcome the newest members of the Trojan Family, the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic has prompted us to notify applicants of their admission decisions only online.

We will not be sending decisions via mail."

@Bellevue34 The Dornsife page has had the June 1 date and blurb from as early as 2013. I personally predict that most of these decisions will come out on the last weekday of this month, which ends up being May 29.

Yes, you are correct, its not required to transfer in, but is a requirement to get your BA in SCA, thats why I did a AA degree and completed all those classes that are required to get out of the way and focus on major of film and television.

Hmm, thats weird only 2 though, do you have proof they were admitted? Or did you get that information from this thread? I think I will believe what USC says on the page.

Those were people that posted on here and stated that they were admitted.

There’s already a bunch of people that got accepted last month.

Well, not in my case because my spring quarter ends June 19, so I know I wont get a decision until after that, thats common sense. I think everyone situation is different but we will soon see as the date is fast approaching and just stay positive;)

I am curious how many of you all are CURRENTLY in your spring quarter NOW & your spring quarter wont end until after May 31? As if USC requested spring grades they will not make a decision until after they have them so I guess it depends on when your spring quarter ends. In my case my spring quarter ends June 19, so I wont get a decision until after that, called them. Most of you are saying that you are expecting a decision by May 31 so assuming those of you that are expecting them are done with your spring quarters and submitted your spring grades? Just curious as seems like a-lot of different scenarios here.

@Bellevue34 Did you get an interview by any chance?

@arjauregui yeah i said that in my post I know that wasn’t the point

@arjauregui here is the link to what I was referring to https://dornsife.usc.edu/transfer-application-process/

I know what you copy pasted was form your individual portal when you signed in but this is a general rule and guidelines page for admission (minus the mailing thing due to Covid -19)

Yes, in person last summer.

I think I am done trying to figure out their admissions process, I will just have wait and see. I wish all of you the best of luck, one thing is for sure we will all find out very soon!

@Bellevue34 lol, the reason why most people are expecting a decision by May 31 is because not all of us got a spring grade request. Which means they can either straight up accept or reject us by May 31st. Since you got an SGR, you can expect your decision to come after May 31 but for the rest of us that didn’t get one, May 31st (or 29th) is the day we get our decisions

@bean01262020 aww haha thats exactly what I was asking/wondering. Cool good luck you!

You got an interview in Dornslife? Is it fairly common to get interviews before potentially being admitted or do people also get admitted commonly with no interview?

Hey guys I’m wondering if you guys could give me some advice. I deciding on changing a core class (Physics 3) grading basis to pass no pass. Its been a rough semester trying to adapt to this new online learning thing and I’m pretty sure I’m gonna end up with a awful grade for this class. I don’t know if its a good idea making this class P/NP since its a core class (unlike a GE). Basically I’m trying to spare my GPA. Should I take the potential C grade or Pass?
Edit: Junior viterbi transfer applicant
