Based off last year’s thread, the earliest decisions started to come out on Friday April 12th for mostly TTP applicants and some others. Is it possible some will start receiving their decisions Friday April 10th this year, following last year’s trend?

Yeah I got the transfer credits e-mail too. I was wondering if anyone knows whether I’m only supposed to include transferrable courses that I passed/received a grade in or am i supposed to include everything (withdrawn courses, failed courses, nontransferable courses, repeated classes, etc.)? I’m only asking because I have an crazy transcript situation with a ton of courses, some from 10-12 years ago that I know won’t transfer for my major (many art and design classes, classes in the trades like woodworking, etc.). Thanks!
If your transcripts are super complicated are unsure of what to add you can just let the admission officials do it instead; filling out the form is optional
@signpainter when I filled it out there wasn’t an option to put W. I only have one W and that was the only course I didn’t include. I did include a class I got a D in though.
@signpainter My transcript is pretty crazy, in terms of different institutions and military credits. So I am opting not to use the course transfer tool. It says it’s optional as well.
So if I applied to Marshall and have requirements outstanding for this quarter will I get a sgr?
Wow, really seems to be way fewer people on this thread than in previous years. Decrease in number of applications? I know they had less apps for freshman apps this year… Hopefully translates to higher acceptance rate for us.
Is it going to be difficult for transfer students to get on campus housing ?
Thanks everyone! I don’t know why I was so worried, but you’re right—it is optional. The amplification of everything, especially time, during this quarantine and isolation is making me over-analyze everything.
Sophomore applied for Political Science from community college in Orange County. I have a 4.0 and a lot of EC’s with leadership poistions, internships, and work experience and in honors so hopefully I have a good shot. Kind of skeptical as a first year though considering I do not have TTP…
hello everyone!
I was in the same spot as you all last year and got accepted around may 17 last year after one year of community college. A girl in my class did not hear back until the very end of May (she was a Communications major). I did not end up going due to financial reasons and I am now waiting to hear back from from UCs ((did not apply to USC again because I did not get any financial aid before ))
to give everyone an idea here are some of my stats of what got me in
GPA- 3.9
Major - Law, Society, Philosophy
Applied with just over 30 credits so I did not have to submit any test scores but my essays were relatively good, nothing show stopping in my own opinion!!
My EC included President’s Cabinet, Volunteer coach, and being a pilot.
I am super excited for all of you guys and cannot wait to hopefully transfer with you all!!!
Does USC take into consideration plus/minus grading(A-, A, A+) or is it something else when calculating your gpa?
@flygaaaaaaal hey! Did you complete your writing requirement prior? Also how many GE’s did you complete?
@ASDFGLEGOISWEJG I think they will consider the cc/university you go to when handling that.
@xlouise29 yes and no. USC guarantees on campus housing for the first two years, however, students currently at USC and incoming freshmen will be applying for housing before us. Usually people end up on the waitlist and sometime get off. Some are out of luck and do off campus housing.
Is next Friday usually the date they start releasing decisions?
@dunnowheretogo Based on last year’s transfers, possibly but ONLY for TTP. Regular applicants start getting theirs in May
If you check the 2019 Transfer thread, one of the first to post their acceptance on 04/12/2019 was a non TTP transfer. So it’s not impossible.
There is no housing guarantee for transfers. The second year is only guaranteed if you were in housing the first year (as a freshman), which of course doesn’t apply to transfers. Some will get housing and many won’t, but it’s a crap shoot this year till figures come out. And if study abroad is cancelled or people don’t want to do it, that will put pressure on housing - as that is how spring admits and transfers in general get housing, those people leave campus. But if they don’t, it will be interesting to see how it plays out. There’s plenty of housing around campus, it can be pricey the closer you are obviously and how nice a facility you choose.
If a freshman chooses not to live on campus their first year, they cannot get back in the housing system the second year.
Yes, regular transfers started hearing mid-April, not just TTP.
