2020-2021 USC Transfer

@CADREAMIN Do junior transfers get less SGR’d than sophomore transfers?

For TTP students, are you more likely to be accepted to the school that you applied to as a freshman applicant? I applied to Marshall last year, and put Marshall as my first choice and Dornsife as a backup for my transfer app this year

Hey guys! I applied to USC as a California CC student (but went to a T40 private school my beforehand). I posted on reddit to see if anyone knew anything about USC decisions and someone said they are releasing them after June 1st this year. I got kind of nervous because for the UCs June 1st is the day to accept or decline your admissions/ pay the deposits. Does anyone know if this is true? I noticed some people throwing some dates around here but I’m not sure if anyone got any confirmation.

@sleeplessincali When I received my confirmation email, it said that decisions would be released no later than May 31st. Last year some applicants found out as early as April 12th. So I would imagine it could be anywhere in that time frame.

Hey, I received an email from USC SCA requesting an interview through Skype.

Does receiving an interview request a good or bad sign?

@hermit1214 !!! That’s great to hear!

Thanks, I just feel really nervous though. I’m not sure what to expect. Does that mean I’m in their shortlist, or do they do this with every applicant? Ugh.

@arjauregui That’s what I got too. Not sure where that person got “after June 1st” from, but thank you for alleviating that anxiety!!

Anyone got a winter grade request?

stressed cuz if you didnt get one, that means they kinda already made the decision - watch me proceed to freak out cuz im a junior and that is usually normal but

UGHHHH

To clarify, applicants will receive a decision OR a spring-grades request by May 31. You may get a decision after if you get a SGR.

If you haven’t gotten a notification to submit additional grades does this mean you’re still in the running?

What school did those of you that got the extra grade request apply to ? Also what year are y’all that got the request? I applied to Marshall as a junior and I didn’t the request…

Guys, is this the official thread for this years??

I JUST REALIZED IT IS INDEED THE OFFICIAL THREAD FOR THIS YEAR.

Late to the party, but I received the transfer credits e-mail too, and just like a few of you, my transcripts are a mess, different schools, with different classes from different years. It’s weird because they ask you to do that in the Common App, which I already did (pain in the ass to log it all in), and USC should have access to that info.

Does somebody know if it’s possible to switch majors? You know to switch to 1st option to the one I choose 2nd? After submitting the app?

For the ones wondering las year I received my decision right on the 31st of May at around 4 pm-ish, I was jogging, called mom, and grandma to open it all together, and it was a solid NO, holy guacamole my heart fell to the floor. But then I continued jogging, and I was like meh life goes on lol

I remember last year many getting decisions waaaaay before the 31st deadline for my same chosen majors (Comm/PR) and other majors, that’s why I think the longest the wait the most likely you did not get in? Except for the school of cinema, I’ve heard they heard the last.

Just to clarify, I am a TTP student applying for sophomore transfer. I am also currently at a four year college that goes by the quarter system so I think that is the reason why I got a winter grade request.

@CADREAMIN is it normal to receive a winter grade request as a TTP applying for sophomore transfer? Does that mean I will receive my decisions soon?

Dang, I already submitted my winter grades, so there’s probably no way for me to know if I’m in the running or not. :frowning:

I haven’t received a notification for grades. I’m applying as a junior (I’m currently a third year so I have a lot of past grades that I already submitted) at a school that is on the semester system. I’m sure the more credits you have/ if you’re on the semester system I think they won’t request grades because your academic history is already laid out.

Also does anyone know any Psych majors who have gotten in as transfers? I applied as a Psych major, not too sure how competitive that is for USC so any info is appreciated.
