2020-2021 USC Transfer

@zettasyntax Wow, that pretty brutal. What major did you apply for? Was the math course a major requirement or just a GE?

A new intern position is what I was referring too

is getting one b for springs grade bad? I got a spring grade request

Not at all, relax, all good! You guys think you have to be perfect, what you need to be is interesting! Interesting = perfect.

hey @zettasyntax and @CADREAMIN would you guys be able to give any insight as to what the next step is for admitted students? After being accepted I am unsure about the process for orientation and registering for classes as well as resources for finding housing. If you guys would be able to help at all with these issues and any other important parts of the first step processes it would be greatly appreciated.

Hi everyone,

I realize I am one of the lucky ones who got accepted, and planned on attending USC this fall. However, due to the circumstances in the world, I am not sure if it is the best decision for me personally. That being said, I’ve accepted my enrollment offer, paid the deposit, and still look forward to going. If I still need to back out, when is the latest I can do so without paying tuition? Also if I register my netID am I automatically charged tuition? Please let me know if anyone knows about this. Thanks!

You really need to ask Admission this question. Something as serious as this question & the longterm ramifications, you shouldn’t listen to conjecture.

Just email them.

Of course, it meant an internship position. What were we thinking… Hahaaaa

Hey guys,
So I finished all my classes, and have A’s in all of them, but my teachers don’t submit them officially until next week. Do you think a screenshot from canvas will be okay, or should I just wait it out.

@lancer92839 I’m in the exact same situation, I emailed my counselor and he said they need an unofficial transcript to review your app again, and that a screenshot from canvas or email from your profs won’t suffice.

@lancer92839 It may not adequate to complete your requirement because what the counselor wants to see is the final letter grades. If it’s not on your screenshot, it may not satisfy the requirements, and the counselor will ask you to send an unofficial transcript like me.

It has to be a pdf document

I want to torture myself some more… will someone please post the link for the decision and stat page?

@syls0507 I applied for Undecided/Dornsife as my first choice and since I chose Viterbi as my second choice, I was never considered for that one. I was taking the minimum transferable math required for transfer, so I guess you could say it was more of a GE than a requirement for any particular major (even more so when you take into account that I couldn’t really decide on a major).

@subwooferlullaby Have you set up your netID and try to access the housing application? I know some people have been a little impatient and wanted to access it the same day, but if it’s been a few days since your acceptance, I would imagine you’d have access by now. Definitely submit that as soon as possible. On-campus housing is hard to get as a transfer, so you’ll definitely need to explore places like Facebook for other options. Well, orientation is where class registration happens, but if everything is going to be virtual this year, I’m not really sure what to expect. I had a lot fun at orientation and it’s actually what convinced me that I made the right call dropping UCLA for USC. Have you checked out the schedule of classes to see what interests you? A lot of GEs and stuff might be full, but they always save spots for every orientation, so you should be able to get into the classes you need. If you have any specific questions, let me know and I can try my best to answer. I’m not the most knowledgeable about housing though as I ultimately declined my on-campus option and commuted instead.

hey y’all, can I just take a screenshot of my grades on my school’s online system (Cornell uses Student Center), or do my grades have to be sent in via Parchment or some other similar service?

@av0cado7.
Here is what USC looking for: "You may upload your final grades or a copy of an unofficial transcript from your student portal. Please note that we need to see final letter grades, course names and the college you are attending listed on the information you upload. "

Has anyone gotten a decision recently?

I am going to be a sophomore next year and I applied to Annenberg at USC as a transfer with the Trojan Transfer Plan. I submitted my spring grades on May 14 from Arizona State University and still have not heard back, I have a 3.9 GPA and the right amount of credits. As you may be able to infer I am really stressing right now. Am i not going to get in?

@hazelbaxter1616 I would recommend contacting your TTP counselor or admission counselor if you have not heard back from USC.
