2020-2021 USC Transfer

just got in!

Do you think I should contact admissions office or counselor to see the status of my decision? Or should I just wait it out? It will be almost two weeks since I sent my SGR.

its been 3 weeks for me here but i dont know if i should email cuz that may give the impression that im impatient. Also, im pretty sure they will say that decisions are still rolling out till july 15th and wont give a straight answer

any engineering applicants still waiting? if so, agree with this message so we know eachother

got into Dornsife as an econ major for spring.

I’m still waiting for my decision too. It’s been little over a week for me now—I sent in my spring grades on June 17.

@PBJelly2020 And others waiting and waiting…ah, it’s too long! But…

If you are sincerely interested in attending USC (versus just wanting to know if you are getting in, but already have plans to attend elsewhere) it is absolutely ok to check in with your advisor, tell them you remain committed to attend if accepted and just being sure there is nothing else they need to make a decision. The want to know you want to go to USC! Short and to the point, sincere and send. Good luck you very patient applicants!

appealed on june 11, sent in my spring grades on june 24 and got rejected on the 27th. i’m really shocked and upset because i wrote a really compelling appeal with new information showing them why i’m fit for my major in PR and i told them i was earning 3 associate of arts degree by this summer. i don’t get why i was rejected. good luck to everyone else who appealed or applied

What information did you say about being a fit for your major?

@333usc i’m so sorry to hear that ):

@pe1999 i am in the same boat, sent my spring grades in 3+ weeks ago

@BobaTaroTea @comedy @harrypotterfan18 So i did some research yesterday and found that engineering applicants are always the last to hear their decisions, id say around july 7th-15th according to the decisions that rolled out last year. So, cheer up and dont lose hope  apparently Viterbi is notoriously known to be the last college to roll out their decisions compared to other USC colleges

@PE1999 yeah I know :frowning: really sucks that we have to wait this long but its okay bc everything will work out in the end ¯_(ツ)_/¯ are u comp science?

@comedy no I applied for Mechanical Engineering (Petroleum) wbu?

@PE1999 oh cool! I asked bc literally every single person I’ve seen applying for Viterbi has been some sort of computer science/engineering, so im glad to see Viterbi applicants who are not applying as a CS major LOL. Im applying for biomedical engineering!

@comedy same thing with me LOL! almost every applicant that I saw who applied to Viterbi is a CS major. Ive only seen one person applying for Astro. Engineering. Its great to see someone else too!

Long time lurker, thanks to everyone on this thread for your insight, humor & support & a big nod to @CADREAMIN, you have been a wealth of knowledge & calming factor. Freshman applicant applying as a Sophomore from a CCC. Anyone still awaiting on Annenberg? I fear it’s a rejection at this point. 2nd major is Dornsife so maybe still a shot? I guess no matter what happens, it will all by over by July 15, right? Good luck to those still awaiting.

@Portland4Life Thanks for kind words! Have you had any communication, or did you just send in your grades? Seems like this is dragging on for several of you…I hope you hear soon! Good luck!

@CADREAMIN I rcvd SGR early April & sent my grades in over 2 weeks ago. Been in great communication with my counselor up until I sent email notifying him I sent in my grades & everything seem to go dark after that with no responses, SIGH. My SGR was rcvd within hours of submission on the portal. Granted, I didn’t have a perfect grades so it’s possible they are awaiting to accept better candidates to fill their spots but why would they wait this long to just reject someone? I recall seeing that happen to people on previous threads being rejected well into July. So until it’s an official rejection, I will do my best to stay hopeful. Just wanted to post my experience in case others are still dangling. Good luck ya’ll.

I’m wondering if, at this point, the rolling admission is based on space available in each college. So if someone gets accepted, then declines, that opens a spot. Thoughts?
