Does anyone know how soon financial aid awards are released after getting accepted? And where do they send it to you?
when do you guys think regular non-ttp students will hear (dornsife)?
@hermit1214 I applied Dornsife, but an SCA applicant I personally know has told me she received the SGR at the exact same time that I did!
@teenybee I don’t know about that. SGR means final grades so I don’t think they want a midterm report. I don’t know when you finish school, but whenever you have those grades you can send them an unofficial transcript (official transcripts take a while to process).
FA typically comes within a week of being accepted if all documents are turned in. Often times they need more and will request that info in portal.
@teenybee okay, i’m hella nervous now Did they receive an interview as well?
Hello, I am a non TTP, I received an SGR last evening. What is the best way to send in 8 week course grades? just a screenshot or is there a specific procedure ?
you just have to wait until your entire spring semester grades are in, then you send an official transcript.
Does it have to be official or can it be unofficial. The email I got says either, but when I look at last years thread they said official.
youll have to send the official ones eventually, i believe. it’s just about whatever’s fastest to show them
Send it as quickly as possible which means first send unofficial - (you upload) then follow it up by sending official from the school. If you are in contact with an advisor, you can send a brief email that says you uploaded it and have ordered the official to follow.
Hey @CADREAMIN - I’ve seen your replies on previous threads and I appreciate you coming on to help us out and share your advice! The wait is gonna be rough but I hope we can all help each other out during this time
Hey Everyone,
Second time applying-- I was rejected last year. Is anyone else applying to Price School of Public Policy? I am a real estate development major. Hope we hear back sooner than later. Best of luck everyone.
Yeah, im freaking out internally
@collegeTRANSF3R Thanks for the kind words! Just trying to help set expectations and calm some nerves - it is such a stressful time. And the transfer process is rough. Wish they all came out on same day - this long lasting limbo land can be hard on you guys. It’s amazing how supportive the transfer threads always end up being - I’ve seen friendships (and room mates) start here and continue on at USC since transfers can tend to pal together.
I’ve had four accepted to USC and a student there consistently for last 10 years, so been there done that for most things USC.
Keep busy and good luck!
Hey @zettasyntax, you around? You well? (Now this guy is the transfer master. )
@transferusc88 Thinking of you too. ?
Dumb question, but why do some people get SGR and some people WGR? We all applied for Fall 2020 right? Sorry for asking lol
@historylover5 Oh okay! Sorry, I got confused because I was asking if the midterm report would make any difference and you said the earlier the grades were sent in, the better xd Just a misunderstanding then… another hope gone… hahaha Good luck to you!
Different schools have different schedules - some quarter schools just finished their winter quarter at end of March, so they are asking for a WGR. Students on this schedule are barely into the first week or two of their new spring quarter, while semester students are well into their spring semester. So spring quarters and semesters don’t end until May or June, and an SGR is asking for those grades.
@hermit1214 Hey there, yes, she did have an interview, but I really don’t think whether or not one receives the SGR is a definitive indicator! Who knows - maybe they didn’t need to see your spring grades to get you in
@cadreamin based on your knowledge of previous years, is there a specific time or week that they start to send out acceptances to non-ttp people? I’m a sophomore applicant applying to Dornsife and I did not receive a WGR/SGR request but I also had submitted my mid-term grades about a week ago since they were all A’s (figured it couldn’t hurt but it was not requested). After talking to my friend who attends USC, I’m under the impression that if they haven’t asked me for one yet, they most likely won’t now (he was saying that my current grades/GPA is enough for them to make a decision? just a guess) So now I’m wondering if I’ll receive a decision soon or have to wait until sometime in May, USC’s process of sending out decisions is just so spread out! Any insight you could offer for non-ttp dornsife applicants like myself is much appreciated. And thank you for helping us all out and answering some of our questions, it’s great to be reassured by someone like yourself. thank you!!
