@florence18 were u a sophomore transfer applicant when you applied last year?
and was ur overall gpa 4.0?
@mill213 Yes, will let you know if I hear anything for sure!
@puffkloud I was a junior transfer and my GPA was a 3.88. Because I switched majors, I made the decision to stay a third year at my CCC then reapply as a junior transfer again.
@florence18 dedication, hopefully good news comes your way!
Did anyone get a request for winter grades? I attend a quarter system community college and I just received an email for winter grades
Sophomore transfer here, quarter system school, nothing yet.
not sure if anyone has already answered this question so sorry if you have but is receiving a winter grades request different from a spring grades request or the same and it just depends on what type of system your school has (quarter or semester)?
@collegeappusc I think it depends. I read on previous threads some quarter schools get asked for a winter and spring, but everyone’s situation is different.
For those of you that are wondering who gets an SGR/WGR?
- Typically sophomores because there is just not enough of college history to make a decision
- You are still completing the Writing or Math requirement
- You are completing a pre-req for your major
- You have an upward trend in your grades and admissions want to see if you have kept up with that consistency
- Competitive schools such as Marshall, Viterbi, and Annenberg
I have also noticed people get asked for an SGR in April, mid May, and end of May.
what does it mean if you are a sophomore applicant (current freshman), applied to one of the competitive schools, but didn’t get a SGR? I did submit my spring midterm grades (all As), and I don’t know if this means anything, but I am not a current CCC applicant (I go to Cornell).
also, do you think another wave will come out on Wednesday?
I have noticed that all of the people who got in so far are legacy and TTP. I’m a freshman transferring from a private 4- year university in California to USC as a sophomore. I got a 4.0 last semester and will hopefully get another this semester. I’m still waiting for my SGRs, when do you guys think more will come out?
i believe may 1st is a day that a lot of decisions come out (looking at past years) so im just looking to that day!
@hannabanana0807 yeah current freshmen. It’s too soon to tell if you will get one or not because some get them in May. So far there has only been one wave and USC does many waves unfortunately.
I think there will be another wave in the first two weeks of May
Are they release the decision? I saw some peoples got accepted from college confidential.
Are they release the decision at one time or randomly? I applied junior transfer with computer science from CA community college
Does anyone know if USC frowns upon applicants with a lot of units? I got rejected from Berkeley yesterday and even though I didn’t reach their unit cap they gave more priority to students with under 80 units. I’m at about 85 units right now since I’m a third year, and now I’m worried this will be a bigger impact on my app than i previously thought.
Last year i didn’t get a SGR until April 26th and I didn’t get my decision until June 10th! so there’s still time to get a spring grade request i Think
if we don’t get a SGR then will we receive a decision sooner?
