2020-2021 USC Transfer

@seabee91 Congrats!! Were you applying for sophomore or junior year?

Congrats!! Fight on!

I wonder if they’re trying to speed up the process? Maybe we will hear every week day or twice a week bc last week’s acceptance came out on Wednesday.

hopefully! i was thinking around may 1 we would start hearing things weekly but maybe it’s starting now? then again only CCC transfers have been accepted so far.

@Kozzie I’m doing the same major as you. I haven’t heard anything back, and nothing has changed on my application page. I wouldn’t worry too much about it. I applied last year and I can tell you that they don’t put any secret hints in their work. You’ll know when you get the email. Hang in there. I hope we are both accepted in the coming weeks.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they want commits/deposits before they have to announce that fall will be virtual. Everything I find online (and increasing news by the day) indicates that all colleges are looking hard at fall semester, and with social distancing a requirement for a while to come, (until there’s a vaccine or a treatment) it’s impossible to achieve that on all college campuses where students must live together, share bathrooms, eat together, and attend classes together. We will see!

Has any Psychology major non TTP heard back yet?

I wouldn’t look into it if you haven’t heard yet. When I look at last years thread I realize it will be one heck of a ride. Some find out in April, May or even June, and July!

@WCWSM52 Thanks! I applied as a Junior transfer!

@seabee91 @HoneyBunchez I also applied to Marshall as a 2nd semester sophomore with a 3.7 GPA and I am out of state. As for extracurricular activities, I was not that involved so I am a bit worried. Only involved in Phi Theta Kappa. So did you guys have a lot of extracurriculars and did you complete a lot of the recommended pre-reqs (like accounting and economics)?

This is typical, actually a bit late - the TTPs have heard early as end of March and commonly end of first week of April. Then non-TTPs hear around April 12 - which is this batch. So it seems both first wave of notifications were just bumped out a week. There has always been a regular wave of acceptances in April.

Please all - when you get news please post:

Accepted!
School:
Major:
TTP: Yes or No

Then any other details like where applying from, but please at least include the info above…thanks and congrats to those hearing so far.

Don’t get discouraged - there’s a lot more to come.

This is only April, there’s a lot of good news coming out of California regarding the numbers - the new USC and Stanford study is great news for Norcal and Socal - fall is looking good and we still have 3-4 months until then.

If anything, these notifications are late (by just a week so not really news worthy), I certainly don’t see any conspiracy to get committments in. Most people that really want to attend USC aren’t gonna let the chance go by regardless of when they find out. This too shall pass.

@CADREAMIN you are so helpful thank you so much for all this! it definitely eases my anxiety. can we non-ttp applicant expect another wave soon? do they come out weekly now?

Applied with 29 credits to Viterbi from CCC, dropped my writing req a while ago due to some big issues near the start of our transition online and was excused, got a SGR.

I’m not getting in, but it’s good to know I might have a chance down the line considering I had like a 2.11 GPA in HS, and I currently have a 4.0. Don’t worry guys, you’ll be fine

Accepted!
School: Price School of Public Policy
Major: B.S. Public Policy
TTP: No

Hello,
did u apply as a freshman or sophomore? Also anything u think in the specific lead to your acceptance

Hi,guys, what does SGR mean?

@qingkong It means Spring Grade Request. It’s good news, it means you’re still in the running!!

Did any non-TTP sophomore applicants applying to Dornslife hear back yet?

@uschopeful123 I applied to Dornsife for Economics, but I haven’t heard anything yet. Hopefully soon!
