2020-2021 USC Transfer

Did they request your spring grades?

I dont think thats correct about rolling admissions I too am at commmunity college for two years and applied they requested my winter grades two weeks ago and now spring grades. Did either of you get a request for grades? They will give your decison OR ask for grades

@zettasyntax alright thanks good to know! was the financial aid package given by usc comparable to those given by the UC’s? when i got into nyu the financial aid package was terrible but i guess it’s because they do t set aside much money for transfers.

@subwooferlullaby I’m in a similar situation in terms of financial aid. I got accepted to NYU but they barely gave me anything, but I also got into BU and they gave me a lot more. My friend who goes to USC thinks USC will be better with giving out financial aid, just our thoughts

Yes, I got WGR 2 weeks ago & and SGR last week.

@subwooferlullaby My estimated cost of attendance at UCLA was 9K and USC was 16K. However, my tuition was covered at both schools, so you could say the FA packages were comparable. The COA by both schools basically amounted to housing costs and other fees like student medical insurance (which I needed). I thought that was a great deal since USC is a private school and all.

@xlouise29 @crustaceans93 Maybe they are doing it by schools? I haven’t seen many people who are applying to Dornsline hear anything back so I think we are good. Their decision release process is so nerve-racking omg.

If you don’t mind me asking, did you guys apply as sophomores or juniors?

@uschopeful123 I applied as a junior. I spent one year at a university overseas before coming back to a CC.

I honestly keep checking the portal like every hour!

So I’m still waiting on the SGR (I’m a freshman non-TTP and still completing the writing and math requirements) and have no idea when or how they’ll arrive. Does anyone know when the next waves of SGRs will come? And will they come through email or like a notification on the applicant portal?

I saw earlier someone mentioned something about SCA decisions being kind of late and all over the place last year…anyone know around when it was that SCA applicants started hearing back? (I’m non-TTP and applying as a sophomore)

There’s already a 20-21 transfer thread going with 1000+ posts btw…

@collegeappusc just looking at transfer threads from the last couple of years, some SCA applicants heard back around mid-April, but it seems like most applicants heard back around late May (23rd-24th). A couple of people got accepted around mid-June as spring admits.

@seabee91 @HoneyBunchez did you guys complete calc 2 before applying to Marshall?

@erina19 Yes, I completed it Fall 2019.

@collegeappusc Traditionally mid to late May is when the largest chunk of SCA decisions are released. Last year was just somewhat odd in that a fair number of people didn’t hear back until the first couple days of June. It may have been partly due to the admissions scandal, but it was just uncharacteristically late. People on here used to think it was unheard of not to get any type of decision by June 1st/May 31st/whatever the last day decisions are supposed to be released, but it was oddly happening more than I had ever noticed it happening. Or it could have been that more people were mentioning it here on the forum. A quick glance from last year and I saw one of the students was a SCA CAMS major, so I don’t recall if it only happened to specific SCA majors, but it was unusual nevertheless. I just hope such a thing doesn’t happen again because a week delay can seem like torture.

@zettasyntax do you know when Viterbi applicants usually hear back?

@zettasyntax @yinhan ugh that sucks! I hope it’s not like last year where it stretches into June but it still would’ve been nice to know in April :frowning: I’ll just hope maybe mine slips through and comes earlier by some chance lol

Just got SGR. I applied to Marshall for sophomore transfer fall 2020 from 4 year out of state school. I completed Calc 2 during the fall 2019 semester.

Just received SGR . I am a freshman non ttp applying for Marshall.

@zaggeryyyyy @av0cado7 what were your GPAs?
