What do you guys think about UC Berkeley?
Hi all,
How much essay is important for admission? I’m waiting for my decision to Computer Science, but i think my essay is sucks… so i’m really worrying about that…Do they put a lot of proportion of admission…?
@hopestayinca this purely speaking on myself, but I believe my essays were a large reason on my getting accepted. I spent MONTHS, from August till December, editing the three essay responses.
We do tend to be our own harshest critic, so I’m sure your essays aren’t as bad as you think. Think positive!
Hi! I have applied for transfer to USC for the Fall 2020 semester following two years at my local community college. Does any have any idea when the admission decisions for transfers will come out? I’ve read the info page on the USC website, I just find it hard to believe that the latest decisions come out June 1st. Are there any any past applicants or current applicants that have any information they can share? Thanks guys!

Yes, they requested spring winter grades about same date and then requested spring grades last week.
Dornslife applicant here, just checked my portal and got a spring grade request and winter grade request pending, but I go to a semester school? I also have 85 units with straight As so I’m really confused as to why they would give me a SGR. Did anyone else from Dornslife get a SGR in their portal?
For some context I applied to Dornslife as a Psych applicant with a 3.82. Finished all the major requirements with a 4.0 and completed all the GE courses except for that citizenship in a diverse world requirement and finishing spanish 3 right now for my major requirement. I have 85 units so I’m pretty shocked right now to have gotten an SGR.
@99suhjw the same happened to me too. It hasn’t been updated yet and i don’t know why
Was on the 2019-2020 USC thread and am now checking in on the 2020-2021 because i reapplied and i didnt know decisions and SGRs were being sent out already omg!!!
lowk disheartening but last year i was literally notified near the end of June so for those who are freaking like me, have hope!!
Have any Dornslife Econ applicants hear back yet???

@Heisenberg15 If one doesn’t receive SGR does this mean they are most likely not going to be admitted ? Also has anyone gotten an email from them to apply for a scholarship around last week ?
@LEVITATE Not necessarily, it’s just for my current situation I feel like I should be getting one. I did receive an email about the scholarship, although I think most people got that, I could be wrong?
@LEVITATE @Heisenberg15 When I applied last year, the SGR’s went out all way until the end of May. Anyone can technically get one but it mostly goes to those students who do not have a lot on their transcripts.

Are there any other Real Estate Development majors? This is my second year applying, and I would love to hear from others.
Has anyone heard from dornsife? I’m a chem major sophomore applicant/incoming junior and haven’t gotten a WGR/SGR or heard any updates. hopefully bigger waves come out within the next week
I applied to Dornsife but still haven’t heard anything back. I have a 3.7 GPA, a Psychology major and a junior applicant. Hopefully I still have a shot of getting in, even though I haven’t been asked for an SGR!

@arjauregui they don’t usually ask people with a lot of credits for SGR, with a few exceptions. I wouldn’t be concerned if you haven’t received one (I haven’t)
