@sleeplessincali same situation. dornsife applicant for narrative studies 4.0 gpa and still SGR’ed
I am a freshman applicant and still haven’t gotten an SGR. Should I be worried?
@mill213 I got a SGR today. Third year transfer with over 80 units and applied as a psych major with a 3.82 GPA.
@subwooferlullaby I have a feeling they might send out more SGRs than usual because they want to see how everyone did this semester with corona and if they ended up dropping/ opting into pass/np. My extracurriculars for the psych field were pretty good along with my essays, so I think the only thing that may be holding me back is that plus I’m finishing the third semester language requirement.
what is SGR?
Spring grade request
I didnt get it … will it be matter?
Did you use a self-reporting tool? like transfer credit evaluation. I didn’ do it. Will it affect my decision?
@arjauregui perfect stats, im sure you will get in, specially for the school you applied to more chances is the biggest school i believe
Hi everyone I have 120 quarter units and still didn’t get anything. I applied for a business admin major since I run a small business myself. But sadly my GPA is terrible because of a lot of extracurricular that I did and family issues which led me to start my business. Gpa is 3.5, I also started a club to support the minority at our school and was apart of the student government and I help bring in revenue for our school. I’m just worried with my GPA, I don’t know if I’ll get in. I love the campus and its honestly my dream goal to go to USC.
@99suhjw I am an econ applicant and I haven’t heard back from them. I haven’t gotten an SGR from them either, but that’s probably because I completed all my requirements.
Does anyone know if your admissions is impacted in terms of when you submit your SGR? My last final is June 8th, and that prof in particular isn;t organized and has been horrible with posting grades. I’m worried I won’t be able to submit my grades until June 10th, which I feel is significantly later than most other schools. Does anyone know if by the time I send in my SGR they will already have admitted other people/ given away spots that I could potentially have filled if I had my grades available earlier?
Got an acceptance letter this monday (Compsci). My stats are 88units completed (4.0 gpa of 19 units from Santa Monica College + 3.7 gpa of 69 units from international uni). I currently have 5 UC prereq courses in progress(total of 19 units), so I’m pretty sure I’m rejected for all the UCs. I’m already rejected by major UCs such as UCI,UCD,UCSB,UCB, etc.
Is there a transfer thread for SDA Applicants? Also, how long after submitting WGR have you all received admissions letters?
@Compsci2020 TTP?
Sorry, what’s a TTP? I’ve written the specifics of my application in the Acceptance Thread

Is anyone else worried about how COVID will affect the fall semester? Not only at USC but at all colleges. With how things are going, I honestly don’t know if fall classes will be in person or online. So what do you guys plan on doing? I am still waiting on a decision for USC but I was accepted to UW-Madison and it’s a top choice of mine but I honestly don’t know what to do… I feel like it would be a waste of money to attend a college if it is only going to be online when I could pay less at my community college. If anyone could help me out and provide your thoughts and feedback, I would really appreciate that.
It’s a better choice to attend a community college If you don’t have the max transfer units completed (Not sure but it’s about 64 units, i have to check). I’ve seen guys from CSUN, Caltech attending community colleges for this reason.
My kid asked for an earlier decision from USC based on another school’s deadline, but USC replied that they don’t do those. Sine he’s not TTP, I’m assuming that he won’t hear until May 31st. He may have to take another offer. Bummer.
@student642 sorry for replying to your comment so late just been busy with papers and projects! When I mean by a lot of work, you dedicate a lot of your time trying to knock out as many GE’s and requirements you can during your first year so you can be competitive enough to transfer in. I wasn’t in any clubs when I transferred in or even spoke about what I did in high school. If you can write about internships that’s great. I spent a lot of time outside of my classes volunteering and TA-ing at different elementary schools
