@CADREAMIN Since USC accepted alot of freshmen than usual, are they gonna accept less transfers this year? I heard they took more transfers than freshmen last year.
@urlocalreject I got one about 2 weeks back and just got a WGR 2 days ago. I think minimally depending on what they are asking they are considering you but want more information! Maybe the forum champs have more info than me though.
@NavyGuy2019 I am wondering the same thing, from what I’ve read it seems to be just me and you (in this forum) that’s applying for the RE development major. I also tried looking back at last years but there still wasn’t many applicants on that forum either. I haven’t received anything in terms of grade requests or emails but I wish you all the best!
is wgr basically mid-semester grades?
what is WGR? If I didn’t get email about SGR and WGR, will I be rejected?
…
.
@erina19 Yes, they took a lot of Freshmen this year – way more than last – but they still have to graduate a much larger number for the next 2-years based on USC’s historical average, which shows they’ve always grown the school significantly from 1st year admits to the size when they graduate in their 4th and/or 5th years. The big increase in Freshmen this year, would more likely lead to fewer Transfers next year and a lot fewer 2-years from now. This year should have roughly about the same (maybe slightly less) than last year in terms of Transfer admissions.
@erina19 One more thing: we don’t know what USC’s yield rate will be on the higher admissions this year. USC probably doesn’t know that yet either, as kids still have time to decide. So, they’ll have more Freshmen, but they don’t know how many. As someone else stated here, the “Varsity Blues/College Admissions Scandal” has had an affect on the overall number of applications. It may also have an affect on kids willing to sign up for the cost of USC; so, the yield rate may also take a hit.
@Kozzie last year I remember there being about 4 or 5 people in the forum I was actively communicating with through out this process. You’re the first person this year I have found to be applying. It would be great if we both got in! It’s such a small and new major. If I hear anything, I’ll keep you up-to-date.
Best of luck
@NavyGuy2019 Hey bro, have you tried contacting the Veteran’s office at USC? They might have more information over there.
I have a huge midterm on Thursday so naturally I’m procrastinating by thinking about USC, and I had some thoughts. UCLA admitted 3500 students out of 26,000, which is 1500 people less than usual. However, they have put a lot more people on the waitlist than normal. I think these schools are going to put off our transfer decisions as long as possible because the next month and a half will determine if fall is online/ restricted. If these changes occur, I think a lot of freshman will end up going to a community college first because of money and other reasons which completely makes sense. But, these schools know that transfers can be their bread and butter since many of us need to transfer to a four year, so I think they will delay these decisions as long as possible in order to offset the amount of freshman/transfers to decide not to go anymore. Although this really sucks, I think this will end up being better for transfers in the long run. The anxiety is real though, even for other schools this is such a late time to START sending out decisions.
@mlplover69 My email asked about my extracurriculars, classes, and why I want to be as USC. At first, I was not sure if it was a spam email because I didn’t think that admissions counselors took the time to email applicants individually
When do dornsife decisions usually come out? Any idea about tonight?
@urlocalreject that’s interesting! Was it about extracurriculars this semester?
Just received a WGR (Winter Grade Request)
(via email at 11:01)
Seems like you can receive an SGR or WGR anytime of the day
Same! I haven’t heard back from NYU though. It’s probably because i submitted the application in last second.
@kozzie and @NavyGuy2019 I am also a Real Estate Development applicant and I haven’t so much as received a response from my admissions counselor regarding the emails I have sent. That stuff aside, this major is everything I could want and more. Fortunately, I got into every school I applied to like UCLA, Berkeley, etc but USC is definitely my first choice. Best of luck to you both! I hope we can all take classes together in the fall!
I’m a Real Estate Development applicant too. Did you get your RE license yet or going to?
I got my RE license & got my Associate’s degree in RE while concurrently getting my Associate’s in Business Administration. However, my RE Associate is not 'with Transfer" like my Biz Admin is so it’s not worth much. Just more about my passion for RE.
are we expecting some decisions today??
