2020-2021 USC Transfer

@dood523 Last year I remember seeing a few people saying they got both.

Does anyone know what schedule the university is following regarding releasing admissions decisions? Is it something like NYU where a batch comes out every Friday, or is it completely random?

I still got a SGR after getting a WGR. I’m a TTP for compsci. fall gpa was 4.0 18 credits, I took 9 credits winter but got 2 Bs so gpa went to 3.67, and Spring I’m taking 20 credits. Really worried about gpa tbh. My extracurricular are very entrepreneurial(business awards & Eagle Scout) , high school ACT was 33, sat math 2 750, but honestly my gpa is prob not gonna hit the 3.7 average after this semester. Interestingly, my high school gpa was a 2.8…

Can you still get into viterbri without taking lab science classes as a computer science major? It’s strongly recommended but not a requirment. Wondering if anyone got in without taking those?

I am currently a first year at LMU in LA and I applied to transfer to Marshall at USC. My first semester I took 16 units and got a 3.93 gpa. Spring semester I am taking 17 units and should have around the same gpa. I have to send them these spring grades before I get my application back. What are my chances?

Also currently in my spring semester I am taking a class that might cause my semester grade to drop to a 3.93 instead of a 4.0. But, I could choose to take it on a credit/no credit based system. Anyone know if having one class taken on this grading style would be a big deal?

Thanks for the help. Really anxious about getting a decision at the end of the month.

@dsl123 I mean, i guess technically you can? But you’re eventually going to need to take it at USC anyway. And I assume a majority of transfer applicants will have a couple of semesters of lab science classes under their belt, which makes them stronger applicants.

@Colemc12 Taking one class as credit/no credit (I guess this is instead of pass/fail?) is not a big deal, but why would you lose the credit for a class rather than get a B (or B+) or whatever it is? A 3.93 compared to a 4.0 is zippo difference frankly in terms of evaluating your overall application. USC really doesn’t go after the 4.0s more than an interesting student with a different gpa. A 3.93 isn’t gonna hurt one bit and I would think that looks better than not finishing the class in the n-th hour. But if you just love that 4.0 that much for whatever reason then drop the class to no credit.

Thank you for this!

I got a request for my spring semester grades but my CC ends mid-June so I was wondering if the delay to my spring grades submission will affect my chances of getting in.

@beacoupbelle Many people have their spring semester end well into June, so your chances won’t be affected. However, you’ll likely hear back in late-June, or possibly July.

Hey guys. I got a conclusion after my investigation.
Since USC doesn’t have a waitlist system, the people who get spring grade require are actually in the waiting list. Their decisions will be released around late June because some quarter system ‘s schools finish spring quarter in the mid of June.
The people who didn’t receive the spring grade request are either Will be rejected or accepted.
Hope everyone can be calm down under this difficult time.

Also, if you didn’t receive spring grade request and your GPA is above 3.7. You might get big chance to get in USC .
Hope everyone can be lucky

When do SGR people usually hear back the decision after submitting the spring grades? I know it depends on the person, but is it possible that I have to wait till June or even July even though I submitted it at the end of April?

@Eric392014 I’ve been hoping for the exact same thing, I really want to be admitted directly. However I feel like there is no way there is no more SGRs for the rest of May. Last year people got SGRs until very late May.

do you guys think decisions will come out this week?

I think Marshall is coming out today what do you guys think

I’m pretty sure some decisions will come out this week. Probably Dornsife and or Marshall. I feel like it would be weird for them to release everything in the last 2 weeks considering how they released in waves last year.

lmao @Eric392014 you’re capping bro… like the homie navyguy said, just wait for the decision & appreciate your time away from school lol… resonated w/ me!

@CADREAMIN Did we have to send in AP Exam Scores to USC already? (I included my scores in the application but have not sent them in from collegeboard yet)

hiiii i applied to transfer from nyu and i got a spring grade request- but i dropped a class because of the whole online pandemic thing. should i email my admissions officer and explain why i dropped it? it wasn’t a major requirement it was just a programming EC thx guys

I’m pretty sure we don’t need to send AP scores until we commit
