2020-2021 USC Transfer

@sunnywithachance I have emailed my admissions counselor for my CC multiple times and he usually responds within a couple days. I would call/ email general admissions if you’re really concerned.

@sunnywithachance My admission counselor got back to me like 20 minutes after I emailed her. I would definitely follow up or maybe call admissions!

do they ever notify you of rejection during May? From what i’ve seen you either get accepted or a spring grade request

I just heard that USC has cancelled their study abroad programs for this coming year and I’m concerned that will almost definitely impact the number of transfers they will accept (since currently enrolled USC students will not be studying abroad and therefore won’t be making room for transfers to fill their space/housing on campus). Maybe this affects incoming junior transfers more than sophomores. Any thoughts?
I hope I’m wrong!

@WCWSM52 it will be impossible to know how this turns out until we can look at it in retrospect. However, I find it unlikely that it will change the outcome.

Our son, who attended a CC in Florida (TTP) was SGR’d on Apr 14. Today his Spring grades were posted by his CC. He has uploaded his unofficial Spring grades on his applicant portal. All items now show as “received” status, we hope he gets his decision soon. He applied to Marshall as an Accounting major (Leventhal). He finished his one year at CC with a 3.9 GPA (38 units completed plus 27 AP credits), he was able to complete his AA degree during that time.

@dsl123 I have never seen them release rejections before the 22nd of May.

Yeah rejections are usually the last wave and they are also mixed with acceptances

One of my friends just got rejected on May 1st so I do think some rejections are sprinkled out early as well.

Has anyone gotten an update on their portal today?

@“Prash Patil” Really? I have never seen that before. Obviously not saying it didn’t happen. Your friend is just the only person who I’ve EVER heard that about in three years of following this.

They finally posted the English Language Proficiency Score on my portal. I guess they’ve just started reviewing international applications, or they are finalizing them. No clue.

Yeah, even I found it weird because I’ve been in the shadows following the past years’ threads and I see that a majority of rejections come out at the end of May.

@“Prash Patil” Here I was thinking if I got ANYTHING back from them for the next few weeks I was in the clear, now I feel silly. Thank you for enlightening me.

@NavyGuy2019 Someone I know just got rejected from Marshall two days ago and my other friend also got rejected from Thornton a few days ago.

I applied Dornsife (with TTP and legacy) and still haven’t gotten anything. My high school screwed up and sent a different person’s transcript under my name because they’re really dumb and I only got notified about it at the beginning of April. I’ve since then sent my correct transcript to them. I feel like everything got delayed because of my stupid high school’s mistake and now I’m starting to get a bit anxious. I feel like I’m the only TTP and Legacy applicant that hasn’t gotten a decision yet…

*PLEASE don’t take this as a “where the heck is my decision??” kinda deal I really don’t mean to offend anyone. I am just genuinely curious if there are any other ttp and legacy people out there that still haven’t gotten anything back

@“Prash Patil” Yeah, it doesn’t surprise me if a handful of people have gotten rejected before the bloodbath that happens near the end of May. Some on here accused me of lying when I mentioned that I had absolutely no decision (SGR or acceptance/rejection) and USC’s deadline to notify had come and gone. I’m not sure why it would be something to lie about. It just doesn’t seem like a very common scenario either, but not everybody tends to post on here, so who knows how common it is exactly.

I just hope this is a good week for all of us. I don’t want it to be like last year. I could feel the pain people were going through as they literally waited till the last day.

@erina19 yeah, I took calc 2 this past fall at CC and completed it with an A.

Hoping decisions come soon. Last year felt different with the whole scandal going on. This year feels even more different due to the epidemic. Good luck to everyone!
