2020-2021 USC Transfer

@franzgzlz24 The low unit count doesn’t make your high GPA any less impressive, but this is often the reason why so many sophomore applicants get an SGR - USC wants to see if you can keep a solid GPA. As long as you do well this semester (and complete core/important courses), you’re still good

@joefeb1 If you’ve already completed the calc pre-req and aced it, I’d say you’re in a great position already. Finishing GEs is definitely important, but not as important as the math when it comes to Marshall. Your ECs are fine too. If you keep it up the good work this semester, I’d say your chances are as strong as they could possibly be  There really is no thing as a guarantee though when it comes to how unpredictable USC is with transfer admissions.

@californiagirlxo If you’ve dropped/added any important courses (GEs? writing class?), definitely let them know.

@zettasyntax thanks! I’m most worried about my essays. I don’t know how much they impact the decision.

@zettasyntax can I dm you and ask some questions?

Did everyone get the “USC Admission Applicant Affirmation” email? Am I just supposed to sign it by clicking on it? I’m confused. I hope my application isn’t considered late because I received this email after the deadline :frowning:

Yes, it is a new verification they put in place.

@CADREAMIN Oh okay - awesome  Thank you so much! I was so worried if I was supposed to have received it right after I submitted my application. Phew.

Is anyone else having issues with transcript submission? I received confirmations from the transcript submitting company that I used, saying that it was received by USC. On the portal however, it says that both my high school and college transcripts are awaiting. What should I do?

My high school transcript is having the same issues. They told me I could upload my own unofficial copy directly to the portal until the actual one comes in. IDK if that’d help you, but it could buy you time.

My DD had the same issues, so she emailed to one of the counselors. She was told that they had received her transcripts, but since Transfer students applications will be reviewed after Freshmen’s, they haven’t been marked as “seen.” But she was confirmed her application, including transcripts was received. I’d suggest you might want to contact your counselor as well.

Everyone with transcript issues, call USC. There is a number at the bottom of the portal. Ask if they’ve received your transcripts, they will personally check.

I did this two weeks ago. I had sent USC a hardcopy transcript, with updated fall grades, but the date next to my transcript was the date I completed my application.

The person on the phone was able to check and confirm my updated grades were attached to my application. A couple days later my portal reflected that USC had received a second, updated, copy of my college transcript.

Can anyone chance me? I am so anxious because this is the first time I have taken applications seriously.

If any transfers finally get their college transcripts as received, can you guys post here? I submitted my transcripts January 28 and didn’t get anything yet. They only received my high school transcripts so far

Mine were sent on January 31 and the application portal updated on February 5. Check your college’s transcript status. My school sent an email stating that USC downloaded the transcript. Maybe give it until Monday, and then if the portal hasn’t updated, give USC a call.

How’d you achieve a 4.21 in college?

I sent my college transcript twice (one on 1/14 and the other one a few days ago that reflects my spring course sign-up), and they are both shown as received!

Ordered paper transcript 1/27, showed up on USC portal 02/04.

A+ (98% or above) is equal to a 4.3 at my school

Damn, I sent my digital college transcripts in on 1/27 and got an email saying it was received on 1/28 by USC. Still didn’t appear as “Received” yet while my HS transcripts were received on a later date by USC and showed up on portal already.

@teenybee @PotatoButter did you send in paper transcripts or digital transcripts?

I am late to this thread… does anyone know when transfers started hearing back last year?

I think it was last week of April and first week of May. Then the SGR applicants heard back in July
