@bean01262020 Hi - I sent a digital copy both times.
Anyone know when usually TTPs hear back from USC?
It varies and can be unpredictable. It can be as early as late March/early April or it can go into the early summer month (June). Hopefully the majority would know by the end of May.
Hey I applied last year as a TTP applicant and didn’t get in, does anyone know if I still have TTP status this year?
You don’t have TTP status, but they certainly have all that information in your file and it can only help, not hurt. Did you have any obvious red flags (gpa, not meeting course requirements, etc) that you think caused you to not get in?
@CADREAMIN Yes, I was required to take a biology class for my major and failed it. After that I knew I wasn’t getting in, but I retook it this year and did well so I thought I might as well try and apply again.
You definitely should go for it! Good luck - they like applicants that show their committment to USC - there have been plenty on here that got in on the second try. There’s a couple cc’ers that I am really hoping to see get in this round that missed it last time.
I was looking at the articulation agreement between my school and USC and I realized that I have only fulfilled only 4 of the GE courses. Two of those of from the Arts section, one is from the Quantitative reasoning section, and one is from the Lower Division Writing Requirement section. Is this going to hurt my application? Would they offer another student admission over me because they fulfilled more GE courses before transferring? I know this is all circumstantial and that they don’t only look at that when it comes to admission, but I’m just curious to know what has happened in the past.
Worried about college transcripts not showing up on my portal as well. Did electronic transcripts because I thought it would be faster lol! Sent it about 2 weeks ago, still shown as awaiting on my portal. Emailed an admissions counselor and they basically just said wait. Also, I just uploaded a copy of my high school transcripts, do I actually have to pay to send them officially?
Hey everyone! I know that it’s been stated that acceptances for transfer students come out dispersed (anywhere ranging from late March to June), but is there a specific day/month period where MOST transfer acceptances come out? I’ve received acceptances from other colleges that have strict May 1st deadlines to accept the acceptance, but what am I supposed to do when an acceptance from USC can potentially arrive on May 31st?
No, not a specific date, it is brutal. Play the commit game - commit elsewhere or ask for extension on your commit date. If the preferred school (like USC) comes in after after you have commited (SIR) to another school, you then commit to say USC, then let other school know you are withdrawing your SIR at the same time. Obviously better to ask for extension to avoid loss of deposit, but sometimes ya just have to eat it.
There are overlaps for transfers in terms of committing, and you may be committed to transfer to more than one school, it can be hard to avoid. It is pretty commonplace since there are not firm universal deadlines like freshman cycle has. Just manage it best you can.
@CADREAMIN thank you so much for the reply! ya, it’s pretty brutal! i’ll try to manage it.
I have more than 64 transferrable credits. If i get into SC what will happen to the extra credits? Will i be forced to retake a class?
@californiagirlxo I remember when I went for transfer day being told by an admissions counselor that 64 credits is the max as a transfer.
I have more than 64 as well. The counselor informed us that they’ll use the credits that give students the best GPA, of course with the prerequisite courses included. You should contact your admissions counselor for verification.
I just finished my winter intercession class with an A, should I resend my transcripts to update it? The class is just Public Speaking and it wouldn’t really change my GPA since i have a 4.0 lol. I’m an engineering major too, so I don’t know if they would care about a Public Speaking class.
Does anyone know anything about transferring into the architecture school? I applied as an architecture major with a minor in Urban Sustainable Planning. I’ve been on the Bachelor of Architecture tract at my current school and have pretty much taken the same course this year that I would have taken at USC, I’m just wondering if my chances of getting in are lower because of the major.
@blankcollege Hi - don’t know the answer to your question sorry, but my daughter is applying to B Arch programs. Wondering where you attend if you don’t mind sharing? PM if you prefer. So hard to get any architecture info out here, just not many arch students on these threads.
Hey yall I applied for Marshall’s Fall 2020.
One question, is it possible to edit the experiences even after the deadline? I forgot to mention some experiences that I put on my resume on the common app. Thanks
Hey everyone,
I’m applying to Marshall this year from UC Davis. I have completed all the GE requirements, however I am worried because I got a B in Calculus last quarter.
Do I have a chance of getting in with a B in calc? Does anyone know of anyone who has been admitted to Marshall as a transfer that got a B in it?
Hi all, I need your help.
I read the whole thread, and I asked earlier about the 3 W’s. I did not explain them because I was nervous to just tell them that 2 of them were dumb mistakes, and it just seems like an excuse.
However, with those W’s, one was in the winter 2019 session in a women’s studies, where I did not know the deadline was much quicker to drop without a W. Otherwise, I would’ve stuck it through if I had known. Same with my second class in Fall 2020, Stress management, which is 1.5 units and not even UC transferrable. I made sure to call my school to make sure I would not get a W, and they gave me the wrong information, as this was an 8 week course and the deadline was much faster. My last W was in Fall 2020 again, with Multivariable Calculus, just because I became disinterested in the subject and didn’t want to tank my GPA.
I saw lots of comments saying 3 W’s is concerning because you’d be 9 to 12 units behind, but in that Fall 2020, I added two other classes later (6 units total), 8 week accelerated, and I got A’s in both of them. So, I didn’t really fall behind, since I dropped a winter course and replaced those 5.5 units dropped from the stress+calc course with 6 units.
My major is Econ, and I have a 3.84 gpa after the fall. I will complete my last prereq, Macroecon, after this spring.
Should I explain this in an email to my regional counselor? Any reply is helpful, and my situation in this is quite awkward, that I didn’t know how to explain it in my application. Thank you!
