@Nazarzzzz Yeah LMU didn’t offer me much. Chapman U offered me basically double what LMU offered me.
USC’s financial aid is as good as they say, however I’m an independent student so that’s probably why my offer is what it is.

@seabee91 Hey bro, wouldn’t the GI Bill + Yellow Ribbon Program cover everything for USC?
@ejordan02 hope for the best! maybe when everyone hears back we can all tackle housing together lol
@hermit1214 Yes it would, but scholarship money/grants, that’s awarded based off of my fafsa and css information and merit based as well.
tuition is covered but there are still things outside of tuition that are expenses, I see it as USC paying us to attend (thanks to the yellow ribbon program).
@seabee91 yea like at this point I just want to know usc’s decision so I can start planning.
@Nazarzzzz LMU or SMU for me. Are you from CA?
@millerman63 southern Methodist uni?
@khsu17 Im TTP too and I feel the same way lol
I have been wondering about this but I haven’t reached out to anyone because I didn’t want to get ahead of myself. That is good to know!
@millerman63 yes I’m from CA!! My top choices are USC and LMU.
I made my decision between the schools I got into and put in my deposit for UCLA, now just waiting for USC which is the school I ultimately want to go to lol
@Nazarzzzz I’m a junior transfer!
@seabee91 ah, yeah, that’s true. Apartments there are hella expensive too. Are you planning to get housing at the dorms or just live off-campus?
@hermit1214 off-campus, that’s the only way we can get BAH.
I would not be planning on on campus housing for transfers. If offered it’s a bonus, but many transfers don’t get it during usual years, and with this social distancing and study abroad people not abroad, this year is gonna be even rougher than usual. I would apply but start looking at off campus options as soon as you are admitted.
Fr’snkly, its not like the dorms are cheaper anyway.
Should I pass/no pass a class that I know I would get a B on?
Accepted at Northeastern yesterday! Now, I am waiting for USC ughhhh
Hi everyone. I was in this thread earlier this year and I am a current USC student. I applied to USC Marshall as a junior last year (transferred from Pepperdine and got into Spring 2020).
I have been busy with finals lately, but now I only have a paper left. Thus, I am happy to answer any questions you may have such as when you will hear back, etc.
I got my decision on 5/31 last year without a SGR, but I still uploaded my spring grades at the end of April when they came out. It definitely helps to update your spring grades even they don’t ask you, as it provides more data to your overall academic performance.
You will all get a decision by 5/31, and it might be an acceptance, rejection, or a SGR.
3 Scenarios :
If you get a SGR on or before 5/30, you will most likely hear back by 5/31 but still possible to hear back in June (more likely) and July (less likely).
If you don’t get a SGR on or before 5/31, but still uploaded your spring grades, you will most likely get an acceptance or rejection by 5/31.
If you don’t get a SGR on or before 5/31, and cannot upload you spring grades by 5/31, you will get an acceptance, rejection, or a SGR by 5/31.
@sagaciousforever Thank you for the insight very helpful, and It really eases a lot of minds I’m sure. Also good luck with your paper
@marlon01 Good luck. I know how this anxiety of waiting feels.
With the current situation of COVID-19, it certainty delays the decision.
