Bumping this up. Or at least I hope I am.
If you have teens, disposable cameras have come back around. Fuji brand is my favorite and Amazon sells them. Also, beanies fit nicely in a stocking. And stickers are always good for laptops and water bottles.
Bumping up for some more ideas. My kids like coffee so I found a local store that carries small (a few ounces) packages of their flavored coffees. I’m buying a couple for each of their stockings to try some new flavors.
Penzey’s Spices are a great stocking stuffer. Today they have a special, a cinnamon gift box with two small jars of cinnamon and Vietnamese Cinnamon and a jar of cinnamon sugar, $18.95 value for $5.95. Put in the code HAPPY at check out and also get a free bigger jar of cinnamon sugar.
I added some additional fun spices for myself and more stocking stuffers to get to the $39 free shipping. Smoked paprika, garlic, freeze dried shallots, taco seasoning, etc. I really like their products!
Some additional ideas/items I’ve purchased: bottle brite tabs (for cleaning hydroflasks and nalgene bottles), firebiner, special Christmas tree ornaments, beef jerky, sodoku/crossword puzzle books, framed photo of our dog for the college kids.
I had clicked over this in my email this morning, but went back and just order 6 gift boxes. If you pick up locally, you buy 5 and get 1 free, so for $30 I got 6 boxes and the free extra jar of cinnamon sugar.
We have a tradition of doing ‘theme’ Christmas gifts and I think I will keep checking the deals all month and give them to my nieces and nephews. A Spicy Christmas.
I bought everyone in the house an OLIGHT I1R 2 Eos keychain flashlight. They normally are $17.95 on Amazon but the Olight Store had a Black Friday sale. I spent way too much money at the Olight Store…way too much…I love flashlights.
I also bought a tactical pen for my son from Amazon that uses Fisher Space Pen ink cartridges and a pack of Write in the Rain notepads.
For those that give Amazon gift cards to distant family members, what method do you use? In prior years, we’ve done printed Amazon gift cards for the nieces and nephews. We include them in a box we ship with other family gifts. Perhaps this year I should consider the pros/cons of doing email format.
I’ve done both. If you do the email (or text) cards you can still pick a card style to send to personalize it a bit!
We emailed Amazon Gift cards to family members who lived in the EU. Never had a problem. Send a brief note when registering for the card via Amazon.
I always ship Amazon gift cards directly to my sister for her kids. I assume I will do the same this year.
USPS, UPS will not insure gift cards (they are considered as cash). I am no longer going to mail a physical Amazon gift card and will use email instead ( and you can print out the email if you want to). If a physical Amazon card is lost , I don’t believe they’ll replace it, but I do think they’ll resend an ecard as long as it has not already been redeemed.
Now that our kids are above 18, we do an everyone buys one stocking stuffer for everyone in our immediate family. So I buy one for H, one for S, and one for D. H buys one for me, one for D, and one for S…and S and D do the same. It’s fun. One year D got me macaron shaped soap from Trader Joe’s and H got me a cute flashlight keychain. S got me some pretty purple gel pens. Last year D got me some really cute Hello Kitty stationary that I use for shopping lists. Last year, I got H some handwarmers, D some new gloves and S a trivia card game. I’ve also gotten the kids fun, but practical gifts. This year I got D some pretty dish towels for her kitchen. For S I got him joke dish towels to use when he goes back to school. I’m still looking for H. I was thinking of a mousepad but that was his stocking stuffer from me two years ago, I think.
This is easy stocking stuffer and very useful for anyone who has to remove hair from a hairbrush or from the new (and awesome) hairdryer with built in brush. You can also use it to remove the lint from the back of your hair dryer. Love mine. $10. Sometimes less.

I just bought scavenger hunt tickets on scavengerhunt.com -tickets good for two years at 400+ locations. 55% off until tomorrow. Never done it myself but lots of 5 star reviews .
I remember from Dress threads that some CC posters who are fans of Haystack women’s clothing website. (I had not heard of them before but ordered a reversible dress and liked it… fyi - beware they do seem to run small)
Haystack currently has MANY scarves on sale under $10 and a few skirts / tops too (not sure how much they charge for shipping - you’d likely need to order a few items for it to be worthwhile) - Trends in County-Level COVID-19 Incidence in Counties With and Without a Mask Mandate — Kansas, June 1–August 23, 2020 | MMWR
Incorrect link
I’ve been to the website a few times and have been tempted to buy but haven’t yet. It looks like a lot of fun!
OOPS … that was an incorrect link (despite me having noticed and attempted Edit/fix during the 15 minute editable window).

I thought something fun for our family to do together once they find it in their stockings is Flying Wish Paper. There are videos on it if you google and several smaller businesses sell these. I purchased mine locally, but I know Amazon sells it. The small kit comes with 15 sheets of paper, you write a wish, light it on fire and it flies away. I thought it would be fun for New Year’s Eve, too. You know, goodbye 2020 and hello 2021!
