2021-2022 USC Transfer

I doubt there is housing at this point frankly. It is usually just the very earliest that here in April that have any kind of chance. This year is gonna be tougher.

Actually I do, just didn’t want to say that and get everyone all charged up. That’s why I endorsed Tuesday, incase something updated between now and then. It could happen.

Geez. Having to wait for a decision this long, then scramble to find housing as a Sophomore, is making me really disappointed, stressed and much less excited or optimistic.

Def apply, but just be checking into surrounding housing so you aren’t scrambling super late and are familiar with area. It may work out, just be as informed as possible. Also, call housing on Tuesday and ask them what they think the chances are of getting housing if you don’t have your app in quite yet. I think they are very real with their answers. Maybe they added more housing options…but they have to accomodate both first time freshman and sophomores this year, rather than only the returning sophomores as usual (as many live outside USC by choice). This year they will all want on campus since they weren’t there as freshman and have priority.

Found out I was rejected earlier. Sucks, but expected with my 3.26 this year. Will try for an appeal and maybe again next year.

Thought rejection would be easier this year, but unfortunately it only feels worse. I spent a lot of time imagining life on campus and what it’d be like to hang out with old friends, but those are just empty thoughts now.

Do we have to accept the decision by June 1st or by two weeks from today?

2 weeks from today

Accepted to Viterbi for fall 2021! I’ve been lurking in this thread for a while now - thank you so much to everyone for all of the help and support!

I was wondering - does anyone know if/when we find out which credits transfer? My current institution isn’t in the Transfer Planning Guide

I see where you’re coming from. it’s hard for me to imagine a decision coming on the weekend or during Monday because of the holiday. but some people did report receiving SGRs on a weekend. so I really don’t know what to expect honestly. what do you think?

It takes several weeks on average. It is a manual process, so it takes some time. Their deadline is by your orientation date, but it’s often done much, much sooner than that. As a spring admit though, I had to wait an awfully long time, haha. I guess there was no rush. I double checked just now and I found an email from December 2nd, 2015. That was just about a week before my orientation date, if I recall. Or maybe I just have terrible luck with these things and am always last in the stack.

Oooof… was a little nervous about this part but I guess I’ll just have to wait for whenever it comes out. Thank you so much for all of the information!

Hello everyone. I think I’m going to submit my intent to enroll. Do I need to provide documentation if the enrollment fee is too high for me? I saw there was a ā€œI am requesting the enrollment deposit be waived due to financial hardship.ā€ button available.

no you do not need to I SIR’d and didn’t have to provide any paperwork

Spring admit here, is subleasing the way to go for housing? I’m assuming there aren’t many half year legit leases. And we have until August 1st to accept our offers right (for spring)?

Yes. Aug 1. And sublease could be the beat way to go unless you just do Jan - Jan. Have to see what best options are at the time.

Thank you! Will look into apartments with Jan-Jan options

Thank you King. I’m assuming you’ll be choosing USC over UCLA even if they you off their waitlist?
